What is a proxy vote for board members?
If the proxy request is for the person organization to represent them in lieu of them personally attending, then it is not a proxy vote. Note that this is a different definition than an alternative form of voting by proxy. The FASB rule requires that the proxy have a power to vote (ie, there are no limits placed on who they can vote for). The term "proxy" refers to a person who is appointed in another's stead (eg, when someone else is away and the proxy is there to receive mail for them) and "vote" is synonymous with "ballot" which means to cast a vote in an election.
What are the rules regarding the use of proxy?
Are there any rules that one should be aware of, that will result in loss of votes?
I have noticed that the rules regarding the use of proxy are not mentioned on the wikipedia page regarding the vote. I would like to know if anyone knows what the rules for using proxies are before posting any answers. The proxy rules are outlined in the Voting Tips section of the FAWhat if I don't vote but I know others will vote for a particular candidate?
As long as you have not already cast your own vote in this round, you can vote "proxy" and give others your vote. Please explain your reason for giving a vote to a candidate, so that other voters can see whether they would have also cast that candidate as their first choice.
Why is a voter required to make choices?
To make the voting process as transparent as possible, it is required that you choose only one choice from every candidate (ie not all candidates can be your first choice, or your first choice for another candidate). You cannot add choices after choosing your first choice. You must then hit the submit button again.
Why do people lose their votes after casting their votes?
If you vote for an option, and then decide not to vote for that candidate in the next round, the system will subtract your vote from the candidate that you chose. If the candidate has no other votes, his/her votes will be transferred to your current selection and vice-versa. In case the voters don't answer my questions, please provide the reason for loss of vote in comments below.
What is required for a proxy to be valid?
I understand that there are a number of conditions which must be true for a proxy to be valid.
Some of these are listed below: The endpoint is a machine or service you own. The endpoint has access to the internet. The proxy is not used to route traffic through it. Can anyone please confirm that these are the only requirements for a proxy to be valid? You are correct, for a proxy to be valid, you need the following conditions: There is no reason that it has to be this way, but that's how they've implemented it.
