Is PIA still trustworthy?
I thought it was one of the most reputable sites out there, but it has a new owner.
The owner is no longer with the company. The old board is up but nothing since.
I just spent two hours researching and it appears that this site is owned by a couple of guys from the Philippines, who have a very strong history of working with companies like PIThey also own other sites that seem to be functioning properly. So, I'd say yes, PIA still is. It's just that they are looking for a new owner.
They are just not ready to disclose this publicly at the moment. The new owners will have a board up soon and announce a new owner in the next few days.
But I can tell you that the new owner has been working with PIA since August and was the head of communications. I'm sure we'll hear some good news about PIA in the next few days. A friend of mine works at PIShe tells me they've had an offer on the table since the new year, but it came at a very low price and they refused to sell at that price. She also told me that they will not sell to anyone from India or Pakistan. If they did sell to an Indian or Pakistani owner, she said they'd be shut down.
I'm sure you'll hear more news soon. The new owner has the details to release now. He is from the Philippines. He's been working with PIA for over a year and was their head of communications when they were being sold.
Good to know. If he's trustworthy then I am happy.
Is PIA really anonymous?
An analysis of Tor bridges and darknet markets
Introduction.
PIA is one of the most infamous brands in the world's underground cybercriminal market today. Originally launched as Silk Road, in 2026 it was hacked and shut down. It later returned under the name Exitnode, until a series of arrests and convictions of various members of staff led to its dissolution. The site then reopened as DarkMarket. This has been its legal identity to date, but it does have its darker past as well. DarkMarket, however, would not exist today if it weren't for the fact that in 2026, three individuals, an English professor, and a graduate student from MIT, created the first Tor-based anonymizing overlay network to act as a market for selling illegal goods on the internet. These developers are known as The Dark Marketeers. They were dubbed the fathers of Tor. Since 2026, however, their influence and significance has grown, and by this year their legacy has inspired dozens of people in at least 23 countries to continue innovating in the field.
One such person is Jonathan Leitschuh, a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University. Leitschuh has been involved in the design and research of many anonymous web services including Tor. His work on this area focuses on Tor bridges as described by The Dark Marketeers. He has published two papers analyzing the design, function, and security of Tor bridges that are discussed below.
The first paper, titled From Anonymous Website To The DarknetExploring The Design And Implementation Of Online Anonymous Service Providers, examines the evolution of PIA and its predecessor Exitnode. Its main focus is to present a history of the early Tor Bridge design, as well as its functionality and security. Leitschuh also briefly explains why an adversary would choose to block Tor users when Tor Bridge blocking is currently quite easy. In the second paper, named Explaining Darknet-Related Behaviors: Design Constraints And Their Implications, Leitschuh goes in-depth into how some of the design decisions made by The Dark Marketeers have forced them to create new services in order to overcome the inherent challenges of the distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack model. Leitschuh explains why the design of onion layers and onion routing cannot satisfy a client need that can only be met through Tor relays or Tor bridges.
Is PIA reputable?
As much as I want to believe that all of my health issues are due to a toxic environment and nothing else, there's no way around the fact that I was born with an extremely sick baby.
My family history is full of high cholesterol, heart problems, heart defects, and other various ailments. There are a couple of possible genetic conditions that may or may not be contributing to my health problems, but in this case, it's a question of "how" instead of "if."
I know that PIA seems like the big choice for people like me who feel that they have a connection to the earth, and also want to reduce their environmental footprint. However, since it seems that every other blogger has negative things to say about them, I'm left to wonder whether this company is reputable. It would be helpful to hear what people who have used their services have to say.
Thanks for the kind words, and sorry you are going through this. It sounds like you need to find out how your parents lived and do your own research. They may have been exposed toxins while pregnant (or while the kids were still babies) so even if they didn't have any of the diseases you listed, you may still have been affected. I hope you get answers and are able to go forward with your life.
I'm really sorry that you're going through all this. I can relate because I had a friend who had bad headaches and dizziness and told me that her mother was pregnant at the time and took the PIA and she too had those problems. But I don't think it was anything to do with the PIIn a nutshell, I was an avid user of the PIA program back in the 90s, and I was very impressed by it. I thought it worked great, and I felt the benefits almost immediately. I don't really know a whole lot about PIA now, because I haven't been a member since 1998. I did try out PIA a few times over the last few years, but I was never able to get a membership.
The reason I didn't join is that I realized they do not provide personal testing and counseling. They do provide a bunch of tests to look for potential chemical sensitivities, though. As far as I know, I've always done my own testing. That being said, it is not a scam - it is a real, legitimate medical protocol.
