Who is the best TV series?
I like to watch shows from Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong because they show a different look on the world.
Some TV series are popular outside their home region, while others stay with people in the region they originated from.
Here's my list of best TV series based on regional popularity of the shows themselves, not by popularity of Netflix or Amazon Prime or Hulu. Best Japanese TV Series. Kiznaiver: This shows was released right after A Silent Voice and has been the most successful of the anime adaptation of real life manga from Yuma Ikeda. The Seven Deadly Sins: Another successful adaptation of a book series by Shojo Sone (who also wrote original manga). It took me four years to finish the final season and I ended up buying the Blu-Ray box set after watching it. This anime is also based on a Japanese novel that hasn't been translated into English (which surprised me since this is a good story that is pretty important for Westerners to know about).
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: This anime series takes place before the manga, before it was even released. If you've never seen the manga or the anime series before, I recommend starting with Volumes one to seven. The reason being, it's not nearly as complicated to understand as some of the later episodes. That's because you already know how things work in the later manga chapters and in the later anime episodes.
Ghibli Library: Ghibli has produced two different series of movies inspired by different books. If you like Studio Ghibli films then you'll love this series. Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki, Ghibli voice actors Miyazaki's son Goro, and others talk about the book.
One-Punch Man: I personally haven't read the manga so I don't know much about it. All I know is it's based on the Manga, it's a comedy manga, and one of the most popular characters is Saitama. The other popular character is Mumen, but I don't really care about him.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: An apocalyptic series about fighting battles to create god like monsters in order to destroy them.
What is the top 1 series on Netflix?
The answer to that question depends on the person, but this post can be used as a basic primer for people starting to find their Netflix preferences.
The following post doesn't attempt to rank all of the top ten series on Netflix (there are only ten), so it will probably annoy people who are trying to read this from the original text. It was going to be 'Netflix's 10 Most Wanted Series', until someone pointed out that it looks a little bit silly considering there are around twenty different streaming video-on-demand sites on the Internet right now. After searching high and low for one that didn't already have its own top 10 section, I found that my list was about 20 series more in number than yours. (But no one can be mad at that).
The list starts with the ten most downloaded Netflix series, and ends with the ten that are most likely to be hated by you reading this. (The title should make sense to you by now.)
Making A Murderer. The subject: The case of Steven Avery, who was convicted of the brutal murders of Teresa Halbach in 2025. He had previously served a similar sentence for the rape and attempted murder of Penny Beerntsen, also in 2025. (We'll get into both those cases later). Steven Avery was exonerated of his last crime after the second trial, and he sued the state, saying that Manitowoc County and the Wisconsin prosecutors were involved in a conspiracy to frame him. At first he seemed to be vindicated, but in 2025 a court threw out the case against the man, saying that no probable cause of a crime had ever been laid down. His next legal case is currently in court.
The series: When these events took place, Netflix's user base was nowhere near what it is today, but the documentary was already doing very well, and then it became an instant sensation when it first aired on ABC. It was watched more than any other documentary before it, except for Titanic, which was watched by almost 4 million times. This was the story that everyone saw, because the case had happened far away from home, and it was shocking and eye-opening.

Is there any good series to watch?
And what is better than the original?
I want to say that I've read several books, including a couple of Terry Pratchett's, but am just now trying to find a series to watch. What is your best suggestion? Also, it would be great if you could give suggestions for which of the classics you've read. I've read Pride and Prejudice and Wuthering Heights but was wondering what else there is out there.
For starters, I'd look up William Goldman's Adventures in the Screen Trade. It's a biography of the development of Hollywood and how many great screenwriters came from theater (he was a great biographer). I've also heard good things about David Thomson's 'The New Biographical Dictionary of Film' (Thomson was a noted biographer/film historian) and Pauline Kael's 'On Directing' (about how directors work, it's a terrific book).
It is not the critic who adds, it is the man who accomplishes. Yours truly "The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." -Margaret Thatcher "The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words." -Philip K Dick
"Poverty is the parent of courage. It is the foundation of all greatness." -Sir Winston Churchill
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." -Dr Martin Luther King "The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that half the people killed are not killed because they are brave, but because they're stupid." -Mark Twain The only way to predict the future is to invent it - Alan Kay. "I believe in forgiveness. I believe in redemption. I don't believe in a lot of the lies that I hear. Lies that I buy. I don't have time for that bullshit anymore." -Dolly Parton
In most of history, the winners write the history. Those who write the history are those who control the archives. Those who control the archives are those who control the media.
