Why is my NETGEAR modem not connecting?

How do I know if my NETGEAR modem is bad?

I have a NETGEAR Modem/Router combo and I was just wondering if anyone knows how to tell if the modem is bad?

I didn't buy it from ebay. It came with it for free.

Here are the specs of the modem: Model: N150 - Version 3.9.6E

Operating system: Windows XP - Version 2025 SP2. Hardware version: Device Manager: Model: RNDIS-5, Version: 9.0 Version: RNDIS, Driver Date: 11/18/2006. Manufacturer: Netgear, Inc. Device Id: Service Tag: 91475984. And here are the specifications of the modem's ethernet port: Ethernet device: Network Controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11a/b/g Wireless Network Adapter #11-0025e:e0. Ethernet controller: Manufacturer ID: 0x1011. Name: Broadcom Corporation. Address: 0003c.02010000 It has been a while since I've worked with modems and routers, so I'd appreciate any help! Thanks! Re: ? The information on your modem says it's BCM4306. That is a Broadcom chipset, and you need an nForce driver for it.

That Broadcom 4306 uses the same protocol as the BCM4306, so the same drivers would work, but you might have better luck using the Windows 7 drivers. Download them from the BCM website, and you can install them with Device Manager.

Hello! I tried installing the driver but it didn't work. I think it may because I don't have Windows 7, or at least, not the latest version. Does anyone know how to install the driver? I'm not sure if I need an older driver because I have an older version of Windows. The motherboard is an Intel P4 2.80G. I have an ethernet card, Realtek RTL8139D.

Why is my NETGEAR modem not connecting?

I have a NETGEAR router and cable modem.

The modem is plugged in and I can access the modem's web page. The connection status light is green and the connection test button is also green. When I click the reset button on the modem, the connection test button stays green but the connection light turns off. What should I do?

More than one person has had this problem. I just went through it again. I'm using Comcast and there was no "wires down" message. I just got home today so I had to start over from scratch. I will probably start over tomorrow too.

The following did not work for me: Turn off the modem and wait about 15 minutes.- Turn the modem back on- The connection test button stays green but the connection light turns off.

This might be the problem I am having. It looks like I should try to use the router's modem. I will try that and see if it works.

Yes, this does seem to be the problem. I tried turning off the modem and letting it sit for a while. I turned the modem back on and the connection test button was still green but the connection light did not work. That is when I checked to make sure the modem's modem connection light was on and it was not.

I have been having this same problem for a couple weeks now. The connection test light was blinking red. I called the service tech they sent me and he told me to unplug the power to the modem from the wall. He said if I plug it back in it would fix it but I told him I was going to call Comcast and ask them if I could do that. The tech told me I couldn't.

So I called Comcast and they said I could turn off the modem and plug the cord back into the modem but I could not turn off the modem. They told me if I didn't know how to do it to call them. I called them back and they told me to follow the directions on the box.

The service tech finally came on Friday night at 10:00 pm. He took the power off of the modem and I was able to test the connection by plugging the cord into the modem. I also tried plugging it back in and nothing. It was still the same. So the service tech put the modem back on the wall and everything worked great.

What is the WPS button on the c6230?

A button on the front or rear?

I have a c6230 with no problem, but if I press the wps button on the c6230.It does not respond! Is there a problem with the button on my c6230? Answers : The WPS button is located on the left side of the unit. As there is only two buttons, there is no WPS function available. That is the reason why the button is disabled.

The WPS button is a button on the front of your wireless router. When the button is pressed, it will connect you to your wireless network automatically. It is in the same location as the power button on your router. If the button is not working then please make sure that your router is plugged into an electrical outlet. If it is then check the wiring at the back of the router to ensure that it is wired properly. Also, try resetting your router to make sure that the problem isn't the router. Resetting your router will cause it to stop automatically reconnecting to your wireless network.

You might need a separate program to monitor wireless access points and your laptop / desktop would connect to the wireless network using a program called networkmanager or wireless network manager . Wifi button ,wifi button is common on all models of dlink and other brand in market. When you turn on your Wifi adapter it will check the wifi button and wap the signal and your device will connect to the wifi in the range of your laptop.
