Why is my BritBox VPN not working?
Have you had any issues with the ITV player VPN?
It's supposed to be a great benefit to anyone with access to a UK address. From the FA"If you don't have an ITV Player Account, no matter where in the world you live, the ITV Player on BritBox will use a UK VPN (Virtual Private Network) to make sure that you can connect to and use the service from wherever you are. This VPN has nothing to do with your account. It is purely to stop people in other countries accessing the ITV Player. "
Is this not working for you? I know it should be. Let us know how you get on! ? I know that if you're outside of the UK, you might be able to get to BBC iPlayer through a VPN. I did too and loved it.
However, ITV is one of the only channels that doesn't work through a VPN. BBC iPlayer works fine.
When I sign into my VPN it keeps asking me whether or not I want to turn it on, every time I turn it off and try to turn it on again. Can someone explain to me what exactly I need to do in order to get this working? Hey there! I've never had a problem, but I'm not at home all the time. Maybe check the connection speed. You have no trouble turning the VPN on or off?
You are aware that it's a non-UK account feature, yes? There will always be someone there who is willing to listen and look at your request/question, especially if you provide clear information about what isn't working. I think this may not be working as it should. As I said, I can connect BBC iplayer which isn't a part of the ITV package but I can't connect to itvplayer.
I set the VPN up and the connection went well, however when I try to connect through the Vpn I get the message on the pop up. "Your VPN cannot access this site. Maybe you are not connected to the Internet, please try again.
Why is BritBox suddenly not working?
I am trying to subscribe to BritBox but it's not working at all.
I tried everything I could think of and I can't make it work. The website doesn't load. The browser doesn't show the subscription page. It says there are no available channels. My problem is, I know this because the web-server itself does run properly. When I access it through the usual means (my IP address) it loads up fine. When I try the link of the site on my cellphone though, it doesn't load anything. When I check my network connections through my mobile phone, I see that there is a connection between me and the BritBox server. I cannot, however, download any of the required files to get it to work. My ISP is a very good one, so I don't understand what is going on. I have tried accessing the server through a different router, but I still cannot access it.
What is going on? I found the answer on YouTube! Basically, if you live in a region that hasn't yet been activated for BritBox, you can't access the page. If you're lucky, someone else in your region has already subscribed and is waiting for you to come online. If you're unlucky, you'll just have to wait until your ISP gets it activated.
Does BritBox work with NordVPN?
No.
Your TV subscription gives you access to one BritBox channel, and when you buy a BritBox plan, it's good for two years, so there's no need to renew every year.
Will BritBox work outside the UK? The main focus is on TV shows in the UK, so you'll need a subscription to British TV if you want to see any of them. However, since the service uses your British digital TV provider data to show programmes you wouldn't otherwise get, it can work just fine if you watch from outside the UK, with your provider.
Will my cable company provide BritBox programming to me? Unfortunately, it depends. BritBox is owned by the government, who use tax payers' money, rather than a private company, so we don't know if they are getting money directly from TV or telecom companies, or both. We'll probably find out more when the 2025 Budget is unveiled next week, and maybe then we can figure out. That said, BT customers who had an account with Virgin Media or Sky in the last five years have the option of signing up to either of those with their existing provider, so they are likely one of those. For everyone else, Virgin Media and Sky don't yet have a direct TV-based BritBox service.
You also mentioned how BT and Sky offer different packages - do they? Yes - and this means you're going to need to compare both to see what's best for you. Sky have got three main options: a Smart TV subscription that includes a Sky Cinema pass (no other entertainment), Netflix and Amazon Prime; or they offer a broadband-only Sky Entertainment service with a limited selection of channels; or the Sky Ultimate combination of both.
I haven't even managed to see what TV content the UK is offering this year yet. Does anyone know what's coming? While things can change (for example, the Royal Wedding isn't in the spring now), some shows will be starting very soon including the revival of Broadchurch (March 29th) and the third series of Bodyguard (April 24th) which will both be streaming in HD.
