This is an issue for me when they say the data center is in CA because it could be in any state.

Netflix could easily setup a presence in Florida if they wanted to. They've been hiring people in Florida. However, they seem to hire mostly people from other states, and not necessarily people from Florida. Maybe it's because they like the climate, maybe they don't want to move their headquarters to Florida, maybe they just aren't interested in relocating as of now.

If Netflix hired more people in Florida then you would see more Netflix videos being watched in Florida. The videos from Netflix would need to come from the CDN first before they go out to a person's home.

In regards to where their servers are located, I would suspect that they have servers that are actually stored outside of the U.S. And they are not even in the U. I would suspect that they have servers stored somewhere outside of the U. And they could either be storing it in an office in California or they could be storing it in an office in another state.

I was going to say that I don't think Netflix has an office in Florida. They only have their primary data center in CI think the only reason they have an office in Florida is to hire people.

That makes a lot of sense. I'm wondering why they don't do it in Florida. They are already there, so why not? Maybe it's not about the jobs they can get but rather the power? Power bills for the data center aren't cheap.

The only thing I can think of is that some of their top people are based in NY and they want them to be in the same city. It is interesting that they have a data center in the same state that I live in and the servers that host the videos that I watch are in a data center somewhere in another state. It's interesting how little information there is on the Netflix website and what information there is available on the Netflix website is misleading.
