Where can I find free proxy servers?
I am trying to use my home internet connection (a dsl line) to access the internet through a free proxy server. I can get a list of free proxy servers from. (it seems they are running it on apache, I'll check it later). But the problem is I do not know which one to choose. I mean I am using the internet at home through my DSL modem, so in my country I am behind a NAT and I can not use most of them.
Can anyone help me or suggest a few proxies? There are 3 proxies I am thinking about using: A lot of people are talking about. But I am not sure if it is true and if it is it's working. Thank you all for your suggestions, really appreciate it. Last edited by pabloonwax on Wed Mar 15, 2024 7:46 pm, edited 2 times in total.
Which is the fastest server in Psiphon pro?
I am using a Macbook Pro with a Core i7, 2GB RAM and a SSD drive.
What should I be using?
I have a similar set up (16 GB SSD and 4GB RAM) and when it comes to speed it is a lot better running Psiphon on my macbook pro than on my windows 8 laptop running vista. I am not entirely sure if it's because of the mac or if it's more of a hardware issue but it's worth a shot to give you some ideas of which server is the fastest.

Hi Celphus! The Psiphon Mac Server (as of 3.4) runs natively on OS X, and is the fastest server available. If you want the best performance, use it!
You can run both Windows and Mac clients on all servers, and there are no differences in performance between them. I do not have a Mac, so I can't comment on its performance, but the Psiphon Windows Client runs just as well as the Mac client. Thanks for the answer. I am currently using the Mac server and the Windows client. Both work fine, but I was wondering what your opinion was on the Mac client vs the Windows client. Do you think the Mac client is faster than the Windows client? The Psiphon Mac Server (as of 3.4) runs natively on OS X, and is the fastest server available.
Can I get SOCKS5 for free?
I am running both the client and server software on my own personal computer. I'm not using it for anything public, so I don't care if anyone uses my connection. Is there any way to turn off IP logging?
Re: Can I get SOCKS5 for free? Yes, you can turn off IP logging. I did it, too. And you do NOT need to be connected for this to work. So, if you use the VPN service on a mobile device, for example, and you don't want the VPN service's logs, just turn off the IP logging for the connection that is routed through the VPN.
In the list of servers, select the one that you want to use as your SOCKS proxy. Do you want to use the one in the "Other." category? Then, in the box that appears, enter the following information: Hostname: 127.0.1
Port: 1080. Password:
When you set up the VPN, you will be prompted for the name and password of the VPN. This name and password will be used for all connections that use the VPN. So, when you use the VPN, your IP address will not be visible to anyone outside your network.
