NordVPN is a VPN service that is available for iOS and Android.

However, due to the use of the proxy protocol in the VPN service, some users who stream Netflix on their phones have reported that they are unable to watch Netflix content as they expect it. For those people who can use the NordVPN service for iOS or Android devices without any problem, can you confirm if it is possible to watch Netflix on Netflix mobile when using NordVPN on Windows computers?

I'm not sure why. I haven't attempted to use it with Netflix mobile yet since I was using a VPN on my iMac and my MacBook Air (which did not work).

However, a lot of people don't know that the proxy server has to be running on Windows for NordVPN to work properly. If you want to watch Netflix on Netflix mobile using a Windows PC, you will probably need to use a combination of a browser extension (such as SurfEasy) and an app like Netflix (like I do). Here are the two ways to do it:

First, download NordVPN for your Windows PC. Connect it to your router. Open the NordVPN application. Navigate to Connections. When you are there, click on Add new connection and select your NordVPN configuration settings. Once that is done, you need to open the SurfEasy app and configure your DNS. I am going to set up mine to the IP address listed on the IP address configuration page of NordVPN (see below). Finally, download the Netflix app from Google Play Store or the App Store on your mobile device. If you want to use this configuration method, please let me know how it works for you. My only complaint so far is that I find the proxy server (if you use it) runs much slower than in other VPN services. I am sure it's because I have a slower connection than most of the servers they use.

When a person buys a NordVPN subscription he is paying extra for the service that lets him access some apps and websites where the person is restricted for example to the US Netflix app on his mobile phone. A normal user has no access to the US Netflix app unless he pays extra money for VPN service such as NordVPN or ExpressVPN.

I have no issues with NordVPN's speed. It feels pretty fast in every usage scenario. However, NordVPN's price is one of the highest and the product is fairly unreliable when it comes to customer service.

Why is there no NordVPN app? As mentioned above, NordVPN has two VPN apps: the paid VPN that I just discussed above and the free app. You could have a dual use setup where you have the free app on Android phone and tablet, and the paid app on your computer. But I don't like that. With only paid service available, why wouldn't the company make a NordVPN Android app? There's no way they would want people using their free VPN as a free VPN for their computer and paying for it to then use it with their smartphone.

I don't like the paid NordVPN Android app. I was never impressed with their PC app before (it was always too complicated), and the mobile app is even worse. I found the user manual unreadable.

I downloaded the app from the Play Store and opened it up. The first thing I noticed about the app was it asks for my email when I first open it. Not the best practice as far as security goes, especially with Android. Luckily, that part didn't require any personal information.

While I'm not a fan of NordVPN, I'm a bigger fan of the apps they make.

Why is NordVPN not working on Android Netflix?

There are two parts to this answer.

The first is that the VPN service is not working as expected. The second is that it's not working at all. The first part will be a little more straightforward, and the second part requires some extra explanation.

VPNs are used to protect your internet traffic and your data in transit from people that may be spying on you or collecting your data. That's it. They are not a substitute for encrypting your traffic yourself.

For example, if you use a VPN to encrypt your traffic, you could use a "private key" to encrypt your traffic, and then you would have to communicate the public key to the person you wanted to send it to. The problem with that is that they would need to know the public key, but they can't get it unless you tell them. A better approach is to encrypt your traffic using a public key that is shared by everyone. So the public key is available for everyone to see. If you want to send a message to someone, you encrypt the message using their public key, and the recipient then decrypts the message using their private key. You can't get their private key unless they give you their public key, which is why we share the public key. This means that they can send you an encrypted message, but they can't get their private key without your public key, which means that only you and they can decrypt it.

This is how it works on the internet. Your connection between your computer and the website is encrypted using your public key. When you browse to the website, the website checks whether your public key matches their private key. If it does, they can send you encrypted messages that you can decrypt. If it doesn't, they can't send you anything, and you won't receive any data.

VPNs do the same thing. They encrypt your traffic using your public key, and then they forward that encrypted traffic to their own servers. These servers then decrypt the traffic and forward it to the destination. If they don't have your public key, they can't decrypt your traffic.

Unfortunately, there are a few problems with VPNs. The first is that you need to trust the company that provides the service. If you are connecting to a server in the UK, and you're expecting that traffic to be encrypted and protected, you're probably going to be disappointed.
