How can I get rid of total AdBlock?

I recently upgraded my Firefox from Version 9 to Version 11.

In my Version 11, I have total Adblock installed. ? I read in the following link, but I couldn't find how to get rid of total Adblock in my Version 11: Thanks in advance. On the Options screen (the one that appears after you click on the icon in the top right of the screen) select Tabs. In the box that opens up, scroll down to the second last option and check "Show tab options when using keyboard shortcuts".

Is total AdBlock a legitimate app?

It was a legitimate app that worked and there is a difference between working and doing things right.

I don't see why an app should need to be able to read your contacts to provide a service to you for free and you would argue the same about Spotify, which doesn't read any of my contacts.

In all cases, AdBlock works as advertised. Just like using AdBlock to block your ads from websites. There are no drawbacks. The only drawback is that publishers make less money since they lose on people that opt-out, but as far as I can see that's a fair trade, since blocking ads is a benefit to society.

Now, if you want to read someone's contact list, maybe we should think of some way to opt in to that. After all, if you read someone's contact list without their consent, that means that you are potentially opening up your phone to a bunch of bugs and exploits. If you don't use any features of a phone, and you install some App that makes it easy for you to access the contacts list of your phone, why shouldn't you agree to a privacy terms first? Or maybe you should.

Let me clarify. I don't want to stop you installing apps or reading contacts from a phone without asking for permission. That's the entire point of the post. When apps that access your contacts go mainstream, that's the time to talk to your friends.

There are legitimate needs for apps and access to the contacts list. Apps that want to read your contact list have to get your approval.

I'll give you some examples: Google's Chrome is a browser that you use to access the web. If you want to search Google, click the little "G" in the top right corner to open a browser. But then you'd want to add your Google account to access Chrome and the address bar. So instead, you just click to add your account to Chrome and that opens a new tab that you can access by clicking on the menu icon in the top right corner. The new tab, however, still opens your Google account if you want to access your settings or sign in, but the address bar has changed. You go back to the tab you were originally working on and then it's just the regular webpage you expected to open.

Can AdBlock be trusted?

Today, in the age of the internet, the majority of things we do nowadays is done online.

We post, we share, we shop, we search and buy, we go through entertainment, news, politics and sports.

That means a lot of our lives are lived online. A lot of our online lives, a majority of it. And because a lot of our lives is online, for that reason alone, internet security is needed.
