Can you add extensions to Brave on iPad?

I love watching videos on YouTube. Brave is great, but I cannot figure out how to add extension functionality to Brave. Can you add extensions to Brave? The only way I've found so far is a browser addon that just does it for all browsers.

Brave doesn't have any support for extensions yet. You can write and submit an extension yourself. However if you are going to be doing that, you should try some of the existing extensions that exist. You could also wait a few months, and then make an extension that is bundled with the version of Brave when it is released.

Can I use extensions on Brave Mobile?

Yes, by installing "Install Add-ons For Websites" and "Add-on Browser" from Play Store.

When you install an extension you need to click on "Learn More", "More info" or a similar button, since the default settings don't include a "Allow extension installation from play store" in your "Manage Apps and sites". If the extension does not work when using Brave as a regular app with the regular UI then perhaps this is an isolated issue to some users. I'm wondering whether anyone has written any iOS extensions for Safari.

In particular, I would like to have Chrome's developer tools and the Web Inspector extension running on my iOS device without installing them from an app store. Is this even possible?

I'm assuming this is possible on iOS 7, since they removed the restrictions that prevented the installation of extensions on iOS 6. On iOS 7, you can download an extension via Safari or Settings, but it isn't listed in the list of installed apps. This seems to prevent adding extensions to your device, and so Google Chrome extensions are available only if you install them through the Chrome Web Store app.

So, no, it's not possible. But it is a reasonable idea to try to get browser extensions onto an iOS device in order to get the most out of your web experience when you go on the road, in coffee shops, or anywhere else where you can't have access to a computer.

This is my question about Chrome extensions on iOS. I use one extension called the Pocket Chrome extension. I can install it on any Android or PC browser, but I cannot get it to work on my iOS Safari.e. Can someone please help me with this?

Chrome extensions do not have native access to iOS (as well as other mobile platforms). This means that any extension you install will be able to run in a normal web browser on all your devices. However, since the native iOS WebView does not support extensions, your extension is rendered useless on your phone.

For this reason, it is a good idea to test extension compatibility on the Chrome mobile app. The version of the extension on the app will work with iOS devices. This app has a special purpose, and as such should not be considered an "official" extension.
