How do I fix Chrome blocked by administrator?

How do I make Chrome work with admin privileges?

The problem is that I'm constantly getting messages about blocked "The request couldn't be completed" and can't fix it. After looking at these answers: Error Code 1722 while downloading. Chrome blocked by administrator. I thought maybe I would need to download some updates, then get a signature check for chrome://updates/? sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade. That doesn't seem to have worked since I got the same error. I can use gksudo without problems, though.

Why is Chrome blocked by my organization?

Our organization is using Citrix XenApp and Citrix AppX to provide VPN access to a couple of laptops.

We have been having issues with a particular laptop that is connecting to the VPN and can't load any pages. After disabling the firewall and VPN, this laptop can load websites just fine.

I've determined that this problem happens only when the Citrix session is active. I have disabled the VPN on the device and it loads fine. I'm guessing that there is some sort of setting somewhere that is keeping the VPN on, but allowing access to Chrome.

You could check if it is an issue with Citrix or Chrome. Make sure you have both the VPN endpoint and local endpoint in your chrome settings.
