Why does Glassdoor only show some reviews?

Can you use Glassdoor without review?

Answer from Gild and Glassdoor on April 4, 2017: Yes.

The only thing you may notice is that certain companies do not use review on Glassdoor because their review system has a different way of rating an employee. This, of course, means that their reviews are based on other measures, for example pay, hours worked, etc.

If a company uses Glassdoor as a method to rate employees, then that company should include their reviews to be compliant with our terms. In most cases, however, Glassdoor doesn't use the word reviews in the headline. Instead, it uses phrases such as review your workplace or share feedback.

The good news is that even without review, the information on Glassdoor provides many ways to know if your workplace is fair or if your company pays well or poorly. If you're still confused on what information Glassdoor can provide about your workplace, feel free to send us an email at support@glassdoor. We'll be glad to answer any questions or concerns.

This is a question I am always trying to answer. It depends a lot on what site you are viewing reviews on and how they are classified. For example, if you want to know reviews written by anonymous users, this would not work. But, if you are looking for employee reviews, these will likely work.

When viewing reviews through the main window, we recommend clicking on the Reviews tab near the top-right corner of the screen. If you are viewing reviews under the About tab on the main page, you will need to open that tab then click on the Reviews tab near the top-right corner of the screen.

We do provide an API that allows you to pull reviews using the REST protocol. However, we ask you to pay a fee to access our internal data and only a portion of the data.

You can find documentation on our APIs here: If you're using a third-party application that pulls data through the API, we cannot help you. However, if you are building your own mobile app, we hope that this can help.

I work for an agency that works on reviews sites like Glassdoor, Salary.com, and Indeed.

Why does Glassdoor only show some reviews?

You should feel good that the answer is no, because Glassdoor is a great tool and it's hard to make any tool perfect.

The number one reason why Glassdoor only shows reviews for some of your applications is that they're getting a limited amount of data from users. If you can, ask your developers to fill out these survey. It will make a huge impact and Glassdoor will fill out more reviews.

The second reason Glassdoor stops showing all reviews is because they're receiving less data from businesses than their competitors who allow all of their employees to leave reviews. That doesn't mean, however, that the quality of Glassdoor is low or that people are not leaving good reviews. It simply means that, as a consumer, we do not have access to every review on Glassdoor because not every company will post their employee's reviews.

For best practices on increasing user reviews: If you are unable to increase user reviews, you are still going to do everything else! Ask yourself: Who is the ideal new customer? Why can't I see reviews on Glassdoor?

It's really nice to look at reviews that are posted by employees.

I was told by my human resources person that I cannot see them. They can only be seen by HR. This is not true. I think Glassdoor is a useful tool for employees and companies to view employee feedback. I think I should be able to see reviews. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks!

Replies. You do have access to the reviews (and the ratings) if you visit the site directly. If you don't want to go to the site itself, you can also do an advanced search of any employee reviews by clicking the "Show" button on the top right of the screen.

While you do have access to reviews, it's kind of like walking into a restaurant without reservations; it doesn't guarantee you'll get a table. As noted above, it's pretty easy to see reviews by employees. I'd suggest you visit the site and take a look. It's free for all to see and if you have an account (even a free one), you're free to comment on or review other companies as well.

My understanding is that employees do have access to the reviews. We are required to read through reviews of our peers. It's a good way to know what people are thinking about us and to address any issues.

I just visited the site and saw that you can see all the employee reviews, but there's only a few reviews. There's no way to filter them by company, location, job title, or anything. Are you sure you're not missing something?

There are also two pages of employee reviews. They're not organized very well, but you can still see what people think about your company.

I recently had the opportunity tour the office of a startup that were about to hire for. The company CEO has started the new process of employee reviews by posting a link on Glassdoor. However, the reviews are not organized in a way that is easily searched or easily displayed. Is there any way that we can add reviews to our Glassdoor page?

I've been using glassdoor for a while and I have to say I love the site, its actually made it easier for me to recruit great people.
