How do I add torrentio to Stremio?

By adding torrents to your Stremio library you enable your favourite torrent sites to find the content they offer, like tv-shows, music, films, video games and more.

With the latest update to the Stremio client we've made it easier than ever to add torrents to your Stremio library. The addition of the Add to Stremio button on torrent sites, and a few other improvements have resulted in a much better experience than before.

With that being said, it is always good practice to check if the content you want to add to your Stremio library is authorized for your location (country) and that it has not been previously added to your Stremio library. If this happens, use the appropriate method to fix it, as detailed below. Fixing unauthorized or duplicate content. If there is content available from the torrent site you are trying to add to your Stremio library, that site may not be authorized for your country or your IP address. Or, the torrent site may already have content for the same torrent files you are trying to add to Stremio. In this case, this content will not be available to you, even if it is authorized.

If you are trying to add content that has been previously added to Stremio, this is because the content is authorized for you, but the content on the torrent site has changed. To fix this you need to re-download the torrent file.

Select the torrent site you want to add to Stremio. Click on the Add to Stremio button. Enter the link to the torrent in the popup, without the # in the beginning, and hit the OK button. Add a description. Choose the quality of the files you want to add, and hit the OK button. Stremio is also great for enjoying high quality audio, video, and games. So if you have an existing subscription you can also add torrent files from the internet radio stations that have a huge amount of content for you to enjoy, like Last.fm.

Is Stremio a safe FireStick?

If you want a FireStick but have not heard of Stremio, it has been getting a lot of attention lately because of this product's features.

There is actually nothing special about it because there are tons of other FireSticks. The Stremio just adds some neat things to make it useful, though.

One of the things Stremio adds to the FireStick that might be worth mentioning is that it can automatically record over-the-air TV shows that you watch in the background. This means that, when you watch a show that is currently being recorded, the show won't pause in the middle and you can continue watching it. When the show has finished recording, Stremio will also stop recording and resume with the previous episode. Stremio works by analyzing the recorded content and identifying what channel you are watching live TV on, and switches its recording mode on and off based on that. You can learn more about how Stremio works by reading our full review about Stremio and the Stremio Smart FireStick app.

As with all FireSticks, you need to buy your own antennas. Stremio does have a few bundled antenna solutions, but for these you need to buy additional subscription bundles and then wait for them to arrive (in about 6 weeks). In case you can't wait to start watching your TV shows and movies, you can stream them right from your FireStick.

The Stremio app is compatible with most FireStick devices, but if you have anything from 2026 or earlier, you might have to install the Stremio-specific drivers on your FireStick's storage drive first. Then, you can download and install the Stremio app from the FireStick website and connect it to your Wi-Fi network. As the app only works on new FireStick devices, it's a good idea to check if yours is compatible and follow the Stremio installation instructions.

You can check for FireStick compatibility by going to the manufacturer's website here, and follow their steps on how to check your model's FireStick compatibility. To help with installation, we have written a guide showing you how to connect your FireStick with Stremio.
