How many quests does Onett have?
I've been wondering this for quite a while, but I just cannot find a definitive answer.
I've been trying to calculate the number of quests in Onett. I've come up with a number of different methods, but none of them seem to be exactly right.
The first method I tried was to add up the XP values of all of the individual quest's XP levels, and then divide it by the number of quests (based on the amount of XP required for a level 1 quest). This yielded something in the neighbourhood of 15k per quest.
I've also tried looking at the time it takes to complete all of the quests, which yielded something very close to 17k per quest. Another method I tried was to calculate the XP per hour given to you by quests. This number came to something very close to 17k per hour.
My final method was to look at the average distance between Onett and the next city (I did this for several different countries, and always used the maximum of the distance between Onett and a city). This yielded something in the neighbourhood of 25-30k per hour.
I know that Onett doesn't have a single quest per day, but ? When I went through the game today, my estimated total number of quests per character on any given day was 966. This is calculated by multiplying the number of quests required per level by the current level of my characters (leveling up was much more rewarding than gaining a level in the game). As noted, some of these quests were repeatable, and some were repeatable plus one or two more quests. You can go back into old save files and keep track of your progress if you want to get a more accurate figure.
It's really fun to play as multiple characters at once, as you can see, when you get a new level of experience in one character, your other characters all get a boost too. As an aside, the game is buggy, especially in Japan. I played all through my vacation, and while in some cases, the bug might just be "fixed" with a patch, in others, it may take a very long time to "patch" and restart the game.
