Can I set up Apple ID without a phone number?

Can I set up Apple ID without a phone number?

I just installed iOS 10 on my iPhone 6s and it won't allow me to activate the Apple ID.

The phone number is already on the Account section and the App Store asks for a phone number.

I read on other forums that you need to use your iCloud username instead of your phone number but I am not sure how to do that. Also, all my contacts are on my Google Pixel with Gmail account. How can I sync the contacts?

First off, even though you have your Apple ID set up with a phone number, it does NOT mean that you have an actual phone number associated with the Apple ID. As for contacts, while you will be able to sync them, they will not be in a unified contact list. The only way I know to sync those is to set up a single phone number with your iCloud email address.

When you go into the settings on your phone or tablet, you'll see your settings, and then under those settings, you should see the "contacts" section. If you click that, you will see your contacts, and then you can choose from the three different types of contacts: People. Grouped Contacts. All Contacts. If you want to make any of those (either people or groups) default, just check the box next to that contact group.

Is phone number mandatory for Apple ID?

I have an Apple ID and want to create another one for the same user.

But Apple does not give me the option for a new Apple ID with a different number. I can't understand why? They do make some strange choices, like in this case. It would be good if you can help me with that problem.

You can change your Apple ID to a new number but you don't need to. Apple will keep the old number for you as long as it is valid. So when you change your Apple ID to a new number there's no need to change the phone number either.

How can I recover my Apple ID without a phone number?

Hey!

First of all sorry I'm new here :). I was in iTunes store and there is an Apple ID, which I made by mistake. My phone number was used to register this account, but the id is not connected with any number When I tried to find it in my Account info window, there were several results and I didn't find the right one.

Is there any other place where I can find it? Thanks. It's not a common problem for me :( But thanks anyway. @kimhirn: You asked how did they know your email address. They probably obtained the your name from your address.

Yes, this happened to me with my old Gmail account. I was sending mail to my own domain name but there were two different accounts with the same email. I didn't notice that until I was already in the process of adding the password to my new Apple ID because of my iCloud account not working. Fortunately, my friend who created the account got me his recovery key before he deleted the account.

If you can't remember your email address or access to Google Apps, try to reset password with a new email address. It should be available as you set up your account. Once reset, I'd suggest that you use a better provider than Yahoo!

I've recently been using Microsoft Exchange and have noticed that it's difficult to set up AppleID with exchange account In exchange account, how do you create your ID? Is it available and how? Thanks. Thanks for your comment! Yes, it's very hard if you don't know how exchange works. To give you an idea, I'll explain my own method step by step, which I hope it would be useful for you.

First, you must create a user (the one we named to create AppleID on MS Exchange) that will act as appleid administrator/creator. If you are unable to do so (ie it gives an error code which tells you there's no one such on your exchange), follow this guide:

How do I get my Apple ID verification code without my phone?

If you have a phone number associated with your Apple ID, and when your iCloud/iTunes apps update it automatically creates a verification code in the App Store for the app to receive via SMS or email.

If you don't have any phone numbers associated with your Apple ID, this is not going to work.

How to get an Apple ID verification code without my phone. I just updated to iOS 8.3 and need to know how to get my verification code without my phone! I'm able to send an e-mail but how to I get the code? Answer: iOS 8.3 Update: How To Get Your Code Without Your Phone. Answer:

When the software update hits it will send you a verification code if it detects that you don't have an iPhone or you don't have a phone number linked to the account. In either case if you don't have a registered phone number or account on file then the update will not detect that you exist on the device. It won't get as far as sending you the code. If you do want a code the best bet is to log into your account from your Apple iPad and send yourself an e-mail via the Mail app. The e-mail can be sent from your mobile phone or tablet as well. Here is how to get a verification code on an iPad, iPod touch or iPhone.

With an e-mail account already set up on your Apple iPad or iPhone, open the Settings app on your device and scroll down to the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" section. Locate the message icon for the type of account that you use, tap on it to access your inbox and compose a new message (it's that easy) To the right of the "To:" field is the envelope icon, tap that to add any contacts who will get the message. Tap on the "Label" tab to name the message something you'll recognize, like "iPad App Updates". Choose a font. Choose a blue color for your message, and adjust the "Brightness" slider if necessary. Tap the Send button. You should be prompted to enter the verification code that comes with the update.
