Is indeed-job-scraper popular?

Are they using it to support their business? I can't tell. And I can't tell whether it's an appropriate use of a scraped database. It might be, but it might not be.

I can tell you that I've seen at least one company go to a lot of effort to create an app to find, say, all the stores in a city, and they use it to support their business. Maybe they were scraping it first? So, your question boils down to: Should you be scraping sites, and if so, why? And I'm going to answer that by suggesting that you should only scrape sites that you own, or that you have the right to scrape. It might seem like this question is about the ethics of scraping. In fact, it's really about the ethics of making your own website.

There are two important things here: How much data you're gathering about people. How much data you're making available for others to use. When you do scraped-site-scraping, you're gathering data about people, but making it available for them to use. This isn't necessarily a bad thing.

However, if you're scraping websites for other people, you're also gathering data about them, and making it available for them to use. In some cases, this could be good.
