How do I add proxy extensions to Chrome?

What is the use of smart proxy?

I am using smart proxy to proxy a http request.

When I type the url in my browser, it works fine and displays the result. But when I send the same http request from my code, I get a 404 error. I suspect that the smart proxy is the culprit, because when I enter the url directly in my code it works fine.

Can anybody help me figure out what the problem is?urlopen(url, None, smartproxy). There is nothing wrong with your code, but since you are trying to access an URL that does not exist, you get a 404 error. You can check this by trying to open the URL in your browser. The browser will open the URL and you will get a 404 error because it is not found.

If you try to open the URL from your code, you should get a 200 response (OK), because the URL is found.

How do I add proxy extensions to Chrome?

I have just bought a new 3G USB stick.

It's a Win Mobile 6 based Windows Media Player device. I'm running Windows XP SP2, and I have tried both versions of Chrome (from beta channel and stable channel). When I insert the USB stick in my machine, it doesn't detect it, and asks for an extension (or a driver) to be installed.

When I click OK, it installs the extension which adds an entry to "Add-ons" under Tools>Extensions. If I click on the link that is provided in that window, it takes me to a blank page with the following message: "The web page at ' does not have a matching extension. It then says: "To get a Chrome extension for Windows Mobile, see this Google discussion group".

I don't see how I can add a proxy extension to Chrome, when I can't get it to load a web page. What am I doing wrong? Re: ? Originally Posted by Dafuq. I have just bought a new 3G USB stick. Do you have the latest version of Chrome? Could it be that you do not have some sort of extension that is needed by the site.

Which is the best proxy extension for Chrome?

In the past, I've used Fiddler, which is an amazing tool.

But I've recently been using Fiddler without F5 refreshing, and I have to say, that's not an experience I want to have to go through again.

I've also been using Charles for a long time, and while it has its own set of issues, it's quite powerful. So I'm looking for a new proxy extension for Chrome, and I'm not having much luck. There's so many options available, and most of them are pretty awful.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Here's some of the reasons I've rejected some extensions: No debugging - I'm a huge fan of Fiddler, and I don't want to give up that experience. So I need to be able to see the request / response as I'm working on my code, and I have to be able to easily step through requests/responses at will.

No screen real estate - I love how Fiddler uses a small icon in the toolbar. I would really love to be able to do the same with Charles.

No "view source" - One of the things I like about Fiddler is being able to view the raw HTTP request and response before they're processed by the proxy. If I open up a web page in Firefox, I can use Firebug to inspect the request and response, and I can even use it to inspect the raw HTTP traffic going through my local network. With Charles, I have to use the View -> Web Inspector to get access to the raw traffic. With Fiddler, I have to right-click on the toolbar icon and select "View Raw" to get access to the raw traffic.

Lack of logging - I've also used Wireshark, and I think it's a fantastic tool. However, I couldn't use it to log to a file. With Fiddler, I can open up the file, edit it with Notepad, then reload Fiddler, and all my logging is there. With Charles, I need to manually log to a file. This means I need to stop using Charles and manually log to a file, or I need to add another tool to the mix.

Fails to save - One of the great features of Fiddler is the ability to save sessions.

How do I use smart proxy in Chrome?

In Chrome, how can I use the smart proxy feature?

In other words, I want to be able to use a smart proxy such as Tor, but I don't know how to configure it and I'd like to do so in a user-friendly way (ie, similar to what happens when you click on a URL in your browser). Is it possible at all? Can you please point me in the right direction? What's a smart proxy? "A smart proxy is an application that acts as a transparent gateway to a foreign site (eg a search engine or some other content aggregator) by routing your requests through it." Is there any way to enable it? Yes, in Google Chrome. If you have no idea how to set it up, search for "Web proxy".

Chrome Proxy Options. A few steps for enabling the proxy, which should include Tor if you're interested. Start Google Chrome. Go to Options > Advanced. In the Connection tab, click Use a different proxy. You should see the proxy you entered in the Settings tab. I'm not sure what you mean by smart proxy. All your connection information gets sent through Tor and nothing is visible to google. So you should never notice anything. You should however set your proxy server information directly in the settings of Google Chrome.
