Is Smartproxy com legit?
Can't seem to find anyone out there with this information.
Has anybody used Smartproxy and is it legit? I'm trying to get free proxy for a long time and I know it's probably stupid question but I want to check if it is legitimate or not.

Smartproxy is legit because they offer free credits for new users to signup - something almost every other free proxy does not offer. So just to help you as you have probably noticed from reading some of the replies, you will be able to watch content of the type you can download at their web-site which is the most 'legit' proxy because all the content available there is 'official'. If you're trying to determine whether it is an official proxy then it is very easy. Just type smartproxy in your browser address bar and see what pops up. It won't take much time either. You'll be amazed what shows up.
Hi alexanderp1,
Does Smartproxy keep logs?
If so, where?
I have a client who installed Smartproxy as a proxy for my domain (and we host our website on the domain). I understand that Smartproxy keeps logs and that if I had access to those logs I could find out how it did what it did, or just know whether it worked or not.
I have not been able to find any documentation that tells me where to find these logs. I've tried to search Google and Stack Overflow, but I can't find anything that indicates what is going on in the logs. Thanks. Trey. P. I do see some error messages in the "Error" section of Smartproxy.com's dashboard, but they are all very basic and don't provide much info.
Well, then, you might consider getting access to the logs to learn why it isn't working. There must be something very wrong that is causing it not to forward all requests.
That is true, although there is no evidence of what the log contains. I'm not seeing anything wrong with the firewall (iptables), however, so I'm guessing it's something with the DNS resolution.
So here's the thing: Is my domain valid? If not, will the Smartproxy service make it valid? If not, it won't work? Does anyone have any ideas what I'm missing here? This all started when we moved over to this domain from another domain. Before it was all working fine.
No, this is a completely new domain. It has been checked with my registrar, and is correct. Our web hosting company says it is all OK. I'm not seeing anything wrong with the firewall (iptables), however, so I'm guessing it's something with the DNS resolution.
How does Smartproxy work?
Smartproxy is the first proxy solution that has been proven by hundreds of thousands of real-world users to not slow down their connection when they aren't using it.
Smartproxy is a high-performance and highly-optimized HTTP and HTTPS (SSL) proxy in a single, portable package. It intercepts all HTTP and HTTPS requests to the Internet, as well as locally-connected networks, and transforms them into high-speed encrypted proxy servers so that you can bypass those sites when you need to. It supports IPv4 and IPv6, both static and dynamic IP addresses, and both TCP and UDP protocols. It also has the ability to perform transparent proxy redirects for both HTTP and HTTPS websites. Smartproxy is a completely free and open-source solution, available for Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android platforms.
Why should I use Smartproxy? Smartproxy allows you to do all the things you would otherwise have to do yourself when connecting to the Internet. You get a fast, secure, and seamless Internet connection, and you don't have to wait in long queues for an unstable or slow Wi-Fi connection, and you won't be limited to just the websites that are on the network. Smartproxy is a completely free and open-source solution, and it has been downloaded by tens of thousands of people around the world who use it for everything from browsing to streaming, chatting, gaming, and many other applications. Smartproxy is highly-optimized for performance, stability, security, and portability, and it's what we use ourselves when we need to bypass those annoying sites that don't want us to visit.
What are the different types of Smartproxy? Smartproxy has a variety of different types, such as regular, secure, transparent, anonymous, and private. The most common is the standard, which is always the first option in the list. You may also want to try the special types of proxy. For example, if you have trouble connecting to some websites, you may want to try the secure proxy. If you're on a Wi-Fi network and you want a way to bypass it, you can try the transparent proxy. If you want a way to bypass the restrictions on your network access, you can try the anonymous proxy. Finally, if you need a private proxy, you can try the private proxy.
How much is Smartproxy?
The Smartproxy subscription is based on the proxy's number of connections (proxies with more connections pay less), however, we have recently changed the subscription plan into a simple per connection monthly fee. This change was made to offer better value for money for customers, and also to accommodate for any potential growth in users. There are two types of Smartproxy subscriptions:
Free (0 connections) - 0.00 per connection monthly fee (0 connections) - per connection monthly fee Standard (100 connections or more) - 0.50 per connection monthly fee Subscriptions are valid for 1 month after they are purchased. A new subscription will be activated automatically if you have not cancelled it in that time.
How do I activate my subscription? If you haven't already signed up for a subscription, you can do so below. Once you are signed up, you will receive an email with your password for you to use to login to your account. You can login at anytime from the Smartproxy dashboard.
How do I cancel my subscription? To cancel your subscription, you can log in to your account at any time and choose Subscription CABINET > Terminate subscription. You cancel your subscription anytime between the 30th and the 60th day from the date of purchase. Your refund will be issued as an Amazon Gift Card.
Do I need to confirm the cancellation of my subscription via email? Yes, a confirmation message must be sent to your registered email address. Do I lose all my data if I cancel my subscription? Yes, all your connections and sessions will be terminated and you will not be able to login to your account for 30 days. How many connections can I have on Smartproxy? We currently have over 1 million connections. More information on connections is here.
What happens when I reach the limit of 100 Smartproxy connections? Your limit will depend on the number of connections on your account. Please refer to your dashboard to see what connection limits you currently have. For example, if you have 100 connections on your account and you want to buy another 100 connections, your request will go through automatically. The pricing for this is dependent on the number of connections you have bought.
