Can you put iPhone in recovery mode while disabled?
I have a 6s, and the battery died (went from 100% to 0% over night) but I have the phone hooked up to the charger. Can I put it in recovery mode while the phone is off? Or will the phone automatically turn itself off if I do that? I have a 6s, and the battery died (went from 100% to 0% over night) but I have the phone hooked up to the charger. In my experience, turning the phone off only disables charging, not the OS. In other words, the OS is still running even if the phone isn't charging. If you want to put your phone in Recovery mode, I suggest that you just take out the battery and then put it back in. This will reset your phone and allow you to get into the Recovery mode screen.
Thanks! I figured that was the case, but thought I'd ask before I did anything. Thanks for the help. I'll try this when the battery dies again in a day or two.
Hey, are there any reasons to use the iTunes backup? There are so many options for backing up your data that I am wondering if I should avoid the backup and restore process altogether and just go with iTunes.
How do I force my iPhone 7 into recovery mode?
One day last month, my iPhone 7 became completely and utterly useless.
A simple process such as trying to make a call became impossible due to some sort of problem with the wireless connection and I was unable to use any applications on my phone. When I first tried to switch it off and then reboot, the only thing that would pop up on the screen was the Apple logo with no option of going into recovery mode. I tried switching it off and switching it on several times while charging the battery and holding down the home button simultaneously, but every time it just displayed the same issue and I couldn't get it into recovery mode. In the end, what I did was connect it to a charger, leave it in over night and then go to the hospital where I work and borrow the charging adapter for another few hours. Afterwards, I was back at home and my phone would finally start working again. Needless to say, my day wasn't exactly filled with light moments, so to speak.
There were many things that could have happened to make my iPhone stop working all of a sudden. These included the battery becoming dead, an operating system or software update causing a major glitch, a virus getting installed on my phone, any number of things. Whatever the case may be, whenever this occurs, it is imperative that you follow the next steps carefully and don't do anything with your phone that you don't normally do (aside from calling someone about getting it fixed of course). The reason for this is that we have a small window of time in which to fix the problem before something serious happens that could potentially ruin the phone permanently.
The good news is that there's nothing that you can't do with an iPhone when it is still able to get into recovery mode. Even if you are going to buy the latest iPhone model, you'll still find that there's nothing that you can't do to try and correct the problem. As a matter of fact, many users are unable to do any repairs at all because of all the new bells and whistles that are introduced with each new iPhone.
