Answers. If you need Internet to be available wherever you are, you'll need both router and modem - or have sufficient budget for both. I recommend WiFi Router, as your internet connection is on the LAN side. Modem usually has to be connected directly to your Internet service provider(ISP).

As you have observed, there are many choices out there in the market. The above router you mentioned is relatively cheap. Other good ones are Netgear N150 and Asus RT-N66U. You should read their manual first to check if you have a "bridge" mode. Even I didn't have it.
