What is a jade gua sha tool used for?
It can remove jade gua, correct?
I am new to this forum, and to jade. The tool I am looking at has "jade gua sha" printed on it, but I'm not exactly sure what it's for. My partner, who has been practicing for 5 years, tells me it's for jade gua, but I've never heard of that term before. Could someone explain what a jade gua sha tool is used for?
Hi! I just wanted to say hi! I have been working on my jade for about a year now and found your blog last week. I'm hoping to learn more from the members here. I am currently reading through the thread on gua sha stones and will post when I get to that. I am hoping to learn enough to purchase a jade gua sha tool before my upcoming trip to China.
Welcome to the forum, welcome to jade in general! Gua sha is a very useful tool for jade. They work by scraping off the top layer of material, exposing the original colour underneath.
The main difficulty with gua sha is that it has to be performed gently, without pulling out the pebbles, so you need to learn how to use the tools safely. When you are ready to practice gua sha, I recommend making a good foundation first (see one of the threads on stone grinding for more information).
I would recommend working on the first four lines of your gua sha guzheng. Those are a good place to start, as it will leave you better able to control the tool if it starts slipping. If you want more thorough instruction, then there are many good books and articles on gua sha that are readily available online.
Jade in the guzheng is probably one of the hardest arts to learn. If you have any questions, ask away!
Does gua sha massage tool work?
I would like to know if this is a legit gua sha massage tool that actually works or not.
I've tried many of these and they either don't do anything at all, make a terrible noise (like a vacuum), or they are too expensive to spend money on a tool that doesn't work.
The one I'm trying is made by Vicha in Bangkok and I've used it with a partner who is a massage therapist. He told me it worked and I don't believe it.
He's a legitimate masseuse who specializes in Thai massage and I'm trying to find a tool that works. Anyone with information, please leave a comment! If anyone knows of a legit gua sha tool that actually works, please share! All replies. I'm glad you asked. My personal experience with gua sha is that it's just about useless as a self-massage tool. It does the job well enough if you have an experienced masseuse there to guide you through it, but I'd much rather just pay for the real thing than buy a fake. I've heard gua sha is similar to the Thai technique called nong chon, which is used for relaxation. I know some people use it to feel more relaxed when they're having sex, but I prefer the real thing anyway.
Gua Sha is a technique for clearing the body of blockages and toxins, in this case the kidneys. For example if you were constipated or had a lot of fluids in your body, this technique would be used. It's also helpful for removing excess mucus and oils from the body. In this case I'm taking it about the abdomen and pelvic area.
I will also include information on breathing techniques to help clear the lungs and throat. This technique also helps to release trapped emotions, which is very helpful in stress management.
Gua Sha is also very helpful increasing circulation and can be used as a great way to release tension in your muscles and relieve pain. I found a very good video about Gua Sha from Youtube.com and I highly recommend watching it. It's very informative, entertaining, and has a lot of great information about gua sha.
Gua Sha is an effective method of massage and healing. You can also use it as a fun and unique form of foreplay.
