What level of support does Octoparse offer?
I am getting into the world of Octoparse, as a replacement for Google Earth Pro, but I am wondering if I will be able to find support for it. Google Earth Pro, as well as many other programs, comes with a support plan and you can call the help line and receive technical assistance. Google Earth Pro also includes the ability to download the program to your PC for offline viewing.
I am wondering if Octoparse will provide a similar support program, and if so, how can I contact them? Thank you for any help you can provide. That is a very good question. As of today Octoparse is still in beta. That means that I have not had any problems so far, and I am sure that some of you do not have any problem either.
When the program is released, it will be a paid product. In that sense, I will still have a support plan as I will have a support contract with Octoparse.
If you have any problem, then you can always call the support number at the bottom of the Octoparse website. You will probably get a better answer from Octoparse directly. They will be able to help you with your problems more easily than me.
They will have a live chat feature on their website which you can use. Octoparse does not offer support by email. If you get a problem and you want to contact them by email, then you can send an email to their technical support email address. It is technicalsupport at octoparse.com
Thanks for the response, JB. I have noticed that there is a live chat feature on the website and I will try to use that.
How do you suggest that I get started with the program? I have searched the website for how to guides and I have not found any. Do I need to have a subscription in order to use the program? I have not found any information on their website about how to use the program.
Who are the typical users of Octoparse?
We have seen a lot of different questions over the years, and there is no common type of user. So, let me give you a few examples of the different kinds of users we see: Some developers just need to know that an endpoint exists in a directory. They don't care where it is. This is what they use.
Some developers just need to know if an endpoint exists in a directory. They know a few of the endpoints. They will use the webapp UI.
Some developers have a directory with a lot of endpoints. They may have used Octoparse before and know some of the endpoints by heart. They may or may not be using Octoparse webapp.
Some developers are more complex. They have a directory with endpoints with multiple directories, and may need to find an endpoint in a subdirectory.
Some developers have hundreds of endpoints. They need to be able to find an endpoint in a directory or a subdirectory in a directory.
And, of course, developers who are running a website in production who are monitoring their servers, and find that a website on their server has gone down, and need to be able to find it again. Octoparse has been around for years. Does that mean that it is a mature tool? That is a great question. When we first started were really concerned about features. Over time, we have evolved to be more focused on simplicity. We think this makes the product easier to use, and easier to learn.
In fact, many people have been using Octoparse for years, and we have a large community of users, and we keep adding new features to the product. We do this because we want people to keep coming back to use Octoparse.
This has been a challenge for us, because we have to balance the needs of the users who have been using the product for a long time, and the new users who want to try the product. Is Octoparse really for developers? This is a common question. Developers often use tools that they themselves have built, and think that other people need to use their tool. This is a mistake.
