It's very simple to set up the browser to auto-search for files or folders of files to open and you can have autopatcher set up to do all kinds of useful things for free all day long without ever having to leave the page. So this seems to be the best route to take when you're just trying to organize pdfs into a spreadsheet without using a third-party program.

I still think it'd be nice if there was a simple free app that works in windows for a batch import process, instead of a browser tool set to automatically save and search for files on the browser each time. The fact that you've been able to make it this far and not even think about how to easily bulk import docs has got to mean there's an audience that needs to have this available at their fingertips.
