Has Netflix blocked ExpressVPN?
I can't access Netflix
One of my clients is having problems connecting to Netflix via an ExpressVPN.
He can still access Netflix on his other computers and mobile devices with no issue. We're running Windows 10.
We tried both wired and wireless connections, using two different internet service providers, switching from wired to wireless connections. Using either method, the client was connected just fine for a minute or two and then got blocked. There were no error messages or connection error messages. The ExpressVPN server logs indicate that Netflix has been blocked by the ExpressVPN router, but that seems wrong. The router has no problem connecting to Netflix or any other sites.
We've used ExpressVPN in the past without problems. We even bought extra protection while were using the free trial of the service. Why does this client get blocked and not anyone else? We're wondering if it's a software bug on the client's end, perhaps caused by something like a misconfigured proxy or antivirus software?
Update: The client can access Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, and other sites on his other computers with no problem. So the problem is specific to Netflix and he can't watch anything through Netflix.
He's using two different routers, but doesn't know how to troubleshoot the issues. He tried changing the DNS settings in the ExpressVPN router, but that didn't work.
It's possible that the problem is with Netflix. It could be a misconfiguration or it could be Netflix, but our guess is that it's the ExpressVPN router. I'm thinking it's a firmware issue.
This is the log output from the ExpressVPN router when the client was connected to the Internet through the cable modem. Click on the image for a larger version: We don't know which of the last three items causes the problem, or if it's one of the three, or even if one of the three is enough to cause the problem. We're looking at the third item, the Sites allowed section, which indicates a problem, but we don't know which of those three items caused the problem.
Does VPN work on Netflix 2023?
I have a couple other accounts (one on PS4, one on the laptop), which doesn't work on your link though Netflix 2024 What's up with that? And how can I fix it? Thanks, in advance. I also noticed that my netflix is still using their old login page. So is that a new netflix logi I have used a VPN to stream from my laptop at home and from a phone hotspot and both work perfect. But I have not tried from an internet connection at another location, yet. I have a cheap PPTP VPN for free if I try in the U. Or somewhere else, will have to be fun. But, they don't work with some websites. So, that tells me that it works but it might need to be configured different. Hope it helps.
Ok so after using a VPN service a bit, and having a good connection with some Netflix but now I have lost it and don't know what's going on. In case you want to send me the link please PM. Thanks! @Grymeko, you are confusing two things. Your IP can change based on where you have internet. For instance, you go to work and use wifi, and your IP is 10. Then you go home and connect with your cable and use wifi, and your IP changes to 10.
@Lars, it can change but if it changes then when you open up a specific website, like Netflix's site, then it can ask you to download their VPN software, which you would put into your VPN account to change it back to the one with the correct IP, which you should get. Hi - I have no idea about any of these issues.so I think I will need help and some time to see how to fix it.
My daughter wants the PS4 for her tv because it can connect online with streaming movies via Netflix & Hulu and other sites with the remote. It's not clear to me if it can connect to the cloud or use WiFi (and if so what kind). Can anyone suggest?
Can you change Netflix region with ExpressVPN?
You can change the country that your Netflix account is using to Canada, Mexico or the UK for instance.
This is all done via your Netflix account settings. You can also turn it off altogether and choose the region you want instead. Click here to change your Netflix region on any of the sites listed below:
Is ExpressVPN safe to use on Netflix? Yes it is very safe to use Netflix on ExpressVPN since it encrypts your internet connection and data leaving your device. With ExpressVPN, we do not sell our own servers in data centres but instead use third-party infrastructure that is already established, which means our clients don't run the risk of having their data stored in places with poor security and privacy standards. It also means that you don't have to put your trust into a third-party company, as they're in charge of handling your data.
