Who are 15Five competitors?
15Five contestants?
Who are the contestants?
I don't know. I only know that they're famous, and that it's like watching a reality show about a celebrity, with all their weird quirks and neuroses, and their fans' fans, and their lovers and parents, and their ex-husbands, and the fact that everyone who knows them thinks they're a freak, and yet no one hates them. They're all famous and their fans are crazy and they're all on a reality show and their best friend is in the house, and all I know is that it's like being a part of a secret society where people know who you are and will kill for you and all you have to do is make a new album, which, apparently, is incredibly difficult. It's a lot like being an intern, only without the benefits. I don't know how long I've been here, or how I got here, but I know one thing: I'm ready to get back out there and make music again. I don't know how much longer this could last, or how much longer I could stay here. I know I'm leaving and I know I'll probably regret it, but that's why it's good to have a little time to think about it, a little time to decide what I want, a little time to try and figure out why I was put here and why I couldn't just talk to you guys about it.
That is a mystery to me, but I'll think about it. I won't go into detail about what it's like to be here, because it's weird, and I'm weird, and if someone asks, I'll tell them they've been here for 15Five. But I want to tell you what happened to me, and why I left. I left because I've been working on my own music for the longest time, and I think I have something special to say to you guys.
I'm sorry I disappeared. I'm sorry I'm so hard to reach.
If you want to know what happened, I'm going to tell you. He was from the same hometown as me, and he loved playing video games and making computer mods.
Who is the CEO of 15Five?
Meet David Vadhera.
He then worked at Oracle and Red Hat - two companies of similar stature, that have both failed to fully deliver what he expects from their public product portfolio. This experience taught him valuable lessons about the problems and challenges of the public tech industry, which made him the perfect person for his next challenge.
And what is 15Five? According to his own words on Medium, it's the fastest private hosted web application in the world. It was designed to help developers create faster, more scalable web applications with less hassle than they can get using Google Compute Engine or Amazon AWS. The problem that David and the other co-founders tackled is the huge discrepancy in prices between those platforms.
As a result, the founders decided to release the platform as an SaaS product - available for a fee for use. The idea was to solve the pricing issue, make 15Five fast and easier for anyone to use, and give developers a new kind of cloud service to focus their expertise on. It's all about making their lives easier.
David, who is on the road a lot, has been a popular guest on my podcast and at our live events to talk about this revolutionary new approach to web service pricing. I wanted to take this opportunity to sit down and really get to know him, because he is just as passionate and intelligent as you would imagine from his work.
He has an incredible perspective on the world of cloud computing, but he also has a genuine enthusiasm for sharing that knowledge and helping as many people as possible get the most out of the technology. So, let's dig in to find out more.
How long have you been around? What got you into the software business? My first exposure to software development was when I played with BASIC on a C64. That was probably my first contact with an executable, it was very, very basic. Then, I started doing it professionally in college, taking programming classes, and working at an Apple store learning how to be a sales engineer.
What does 15Five actually do?
15Five, in short, is a marketing automation platform that helps small businesses and startups grow.
Our focus is on growth.
Our platform does the heavy lifting, while you get to focus on what you're great at. We're here to help you grow your business, not manage it. So, when we say growth, we're referring to your business's revenue and conversion rate, which is the most important indicator of how well you're doing.
Our platform automatically sends emails to your lists, or to new people who want to hear from you. It's super easy, and we do all the hard work for you.
You can easily create an email series, and then track the results to measure your success. For example, one email in a series might be something like 3 reasons you should buy my product today. And you can add links and a CTA button to it.
We'll then send that email to your list, and you'll see how many clicks it gets, and how many people sign up for your offer. Once you set this up, you're off and running. You'll have a great email series in just a few minutes.
In fact, the whole process takes less than 5 minutes. When you have a product or service that you want to sell online, you'll need to build a website. We've got you covered on that front, too. Your site can either be a WordPress site, or you can use our own Squarespace site builder. Both are easy to use, and you can add and edit pages on your site whenever you want.
A site can be as simple or complex as you need it to be, and you can also make money off it, or offer a free service. We'll help you find your market, create your products, and set up your site so that you can start selling. We'll even help you get traffic to your site. But, once you've got your site set up, it's all up to you.
