Why did Crosshair turn bad?
By Chris O'Leary, May 2, 2024.
In February 2024, I was in the middle of a business trip. My plane landed in a city in the south-west of the US. I didn't have any money with me, so I decided to take a cab to the hotel. On my way to the hotel, I met a woman in a car and she asked me if I wanted a ride. She then told me that she was going to the hotel with her daughter. As we drove along, she asked me how I was doing and I told her that I was okay. She said that her name was Jennifer and she was very pretty. She then told me that she lived in the city and was also in the same business trip as me. She said that her company was going to be launching a new app. We then talked about my life and she told me that she was a mother of three and that she was divorced. She said that her ex-husband was in jail and that they were going to be getting divorced soon. She then asked me what I did for work and I told her that I was in the IT field. She then asked me if I would like to meet her friend. I then asked her why she wanted to meet her friend, to which she said that she would tell me on the way to the hotel.
Once we arrived at the hotel, she told me that her friend was in the room next to us. She then said that her friend is a beautiful lady and that she is younger than me. She then asked me if I wanted to meet her friend. I then told her that I didn't know her friend. She then said that her friend is a crossdresser. I didn't really know what a crossdresser was, so I asked her what a crossdresser was. She then told me that she was a crossdresser. She then told me that she was going to the bathroom and that she would be right back. When she came back, she looked exactly like the woman in the car. I asked her if she was sure that her friend was a crossdresser. She then told me that her friend was a crossdresser and that she was a female.
I then asked her why she wanted to meet her friend and she said that she wanted to get to know me. She then asked me if I would like to join her and her friend.
Is Crosshair a traitor?
We have been told the entire time that Crosshair is a traitor.
Yet they have not been punished, or at least not severely punished. What do you think?

He's also an idiot for not doing something stupid that gets him on someones radar. I'm pretty sure that if he'd just said "Yeah, I'm a sith lord" that he'd be in jail already.

Was Crosshair affected by Order 66?
As we've seen, Vader's order to Luke to kill Leia was not a part of the canonical story.
However, in the Legends continuity, Vader kills Leia after Crosshair has been shot, and his reasoning is that Crosshair might be useful to the Rebellion.
In the official novelisation, Vader tells Luke that he will take responsibility for Crosshair, but also that he doesn't need him: "A droid can help with the Princess; I need no one." There is a strong possibility that Vader has already killed Crosshair by this point, but it is left as a mystery. Vader orders Luke to kill Leia. Obi-Wan: You are going to have to kill her. She's not working against us.
Vader: I've already done so. Obi-Wan: No. There's still hope. I'm a Jedi, and she's my sister.
Vader: Then she dies. You're in command here. I'm returning you to the Emperor.
In Empire, Chapter 5: The Emperor Arrives, Luke has been told to kill Leia. He tries to fight this, but he just can't.
Obi-Wan, in despair, turns to the most painful way of fighting his feelings: he tells Luke to kill Leia. Luke doesn't understand why this is so difficult for Obi-Wan. "I don't understand," he says. "Why must I do this?" Obi-Wan doesn't answer. Instead, he gives him a long look, and then says, "You're in command here." Luke is stunned by this revelation. He had never expected to take orders from his father.
As this conversation takes place, Vader has already killed Crosshair: Luke took a deep breath, then said, "No, I can't. It's not right."
Vader: Crosshair has served well. Luke: I can't bring myself to do it. Vader: You don't have to. I will do it.
As Vader kills Crosshair, he seems to regard him as more of a tool than a companion: Crosshair twitched and groaned, but his arm twitched too, and he began to rise.
