Is PicMonkey better than Canva?

What happened to PicMonkey?

We are told that the site was acquired by Microsoft in May 2025.

It's still up and running, but not updated with new features. This news came out of the blue -- PicMonkey was featured on the MSDN blog this morning, without warning. There's no word on the PicMonkey acquisition from the MSDN Blog, but I'm guessing it's some kind of partnership.

PicMonkey is best known for its photo editing tool for editing and cropping photos. It includes features like resizing, color adjustment, applying filters, and more. If you want a good alternative, I'd recommend Pixlr, which is an even cheaper and equally good image editor. In fact, it's going away soon enough. On May 21st, Google will finally pull the plug on Wave.

You can save your Wave content for posterity if you're willing to spend a few hours formatting it. The "Save" option in the top right corner of any Wave document you want to keep will preserve the document as a Google Docs file. Once that's done, you can always export it as a PDF, or view the document as a web page. But your options are limited. So it had a while to go.

Update: The save feature seems to have disappeared at the time of writing. You'll get a message when the option is available.

As promised last week, here's the video of Google's presentation on how G Suite works. G Suite is the new name for what is now the old Google Apps offering, and Google is introducing some new features to make it more appealing to enterprise customers.

G Suite is Google's answer to Microsoft Office 365. It includes Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides (the latter is coming soon), and lets you share and work together on documents online in the cloud. I think there's something missing here. It's not like Google is the only player in the game. Google is going after sales for the big companies that use Microsoft Office 365, and it has already taken away some features from Microsoft's offering.

Is PicMonkey still free?

The website PicMonkey has been a mainstay of my creative side for years now.

For those that are unfamiliar with PicMonkey, it's a free website for creating collages and graphics using images and Photoshop templates. The site allows you to create your own images, collages and graphics. These can then be saved and shared.

I love using PicMonkey for my personal projects, as well as my blog, and some of my social media channels. I've been looking at the site in the past few weeks, and I'm amazed at how much it has grown. There's even an app.

That said, I'm a little worried about the future of PicMonkey. When I last used the site in the autumn, the site was free. Now, there is a fee of 14.99 per month (or 29.99 per year).

PicMonkey says: We have taken care of all the hosting and maintenance for PicMonkey and its sister services for the past few years. We are so thankful to everyone who has helped us in that time. Now, we're taking a little time to scale up our operations so that we can keep on growing this community that has helped us.

At the moment, they are also running a promotion to get people to sign up to the new service. I'd like to know if PicMonkey is still going ahead as a free service. PicMonkey used to be free. When I signed up for the service, I chose a free account, which included 100GB of storage and unlimited downloads. This is something that I am looking at using again.

However, when I logged in recently, PicMonkey was charging 14.99 per month (or 29.99 per year).

When you look at their services, the prices for the standard version seems to be 7.99 per month (or 15.99 per year).

According to a tweet from the company, PicMonkey is free for a limited time. PicMonkey says: PicMonkey is free for a limited time. We are not charging because we want to keep the community we have built.

Both of these photo editing apps are very popular and have a lot of users. In this post we are going to compare both of them and try to help you make an informed decision whether one is better than the other.

Introduction. You probably know that with all that hype around the photo editing app lately, there's quite a lot of them out there.
