What is VistaCreate used for?

A VistaCreate is an image of the hard drive.

I use it when I need to make a fresh start of Windows or transfer it between computers, in short, I back up my data before I do a system wipe and restore it. I just create an image from a running installation that you can copy/download/burn to a CD or burn to a DVD.

To create your own VistaCreate: When you install Vista you are presented with a dialog box for VistaCreate. Go ahead and hit OK and you will be presented with a few prompts for additional information. Your computer name, account info and network info can be set during this process. At the end of these final steps you will be presented with a blank VistaCreate.

Once you have done this, you can then perform an Image Recovery to get rid of Vista and restore the previous state of the hard drive. It does not matter if you format the entire drive or just delete some of the files. You could start a full disk scan if you have concerns about losing any files. For example, this may help to recover lost data, for more information, see Recovering Lost Data.

How do I use it? Here is a little how-to on using VistaCreate. First, open VistaCreate by starting up from VistaCreate.exe or double click on the small icon on your Desktop. Next, in the VistaCreate window there are three tabs for what you can do with VistaCreate. Let's take a look at each one.

Tabs: Recovery Tools. The Recovery tools menu holds most of your options. Use the Recovery tools menu for the most efficient way to perform your recovery operations. As long as you remember to set your name, network location and account username, then any file recovery operations (such as restoring deleted files) will be automatically set to your proper user account and your proper location.

Vista Create Options. The Vista Create Options menu. This is where you select what you want to do with your image. If you select Restore Vista, you will be taken to the Vista Create window with this option. All of the settings you made when creating your VistaCreate will be automatically updated. Other options are available for saving your image, setting the size of your VistaCreate and other things.

Is VistaCreate legit?

I read a thread on this site about vista create software and am curious to know who is using it for windows 7 64bit as well as if it actually works.

I just want to make sure my system would be secure after install this software as it doesnt seem that the software works with the windows 7 32bit. (i have installed with it) but when I tried to install with the windows 7 64bit (in compatibility mode )it doesnt even come up to the screen, its black with a blinking white cursor on it. So I did a repair which brought up another dialog and told me that the file system was bad and I needed to reinstall (which I havent done as of yet). (the windows partition was already set up for xp pro so nothing was actually lost, besides I only had 1 file on the linux partition and it was a nero dvd burner setup file.) Also I checked my boot device selection and I clicked fixboot or something to that effect and it said it completed (although I didnt click ok) and then restarted back to the screen that I saw earlier.

I read up on VistaCreate and from what I can tell thats not the program im looking for. Im just curious as to how long the thread is going to last before someone tells me that if I run this ill lose all of my work and that it just doesnt work with 64bit and it doesnt have a refund policy on it.

As for myself ive been using vista for 3 years now. I still have a lot of work in progress but as of right now its safe but I dont want to give it up without giving it the old test Re: VistaCreate legit? Well from what ive read in the support section I think I have no choice but to switch over to vista, if install 64bit vista I willl be unable to install 64bit vista on an existing computer, however there seems to be nothing like that for 32bit vista.
