The software will be available for download on Symantec's website starting September 4, 2024. It is named Norton AntiVirus Free Edition or simply Norton AntiVirus. It will run on 32-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and 8.95 a year.95, This is the same price that is charged by Kaspersky Labs for a non-subscription version of the software.

There will be two other options available in addition to the two subscription-based products. Both will offer an entirely free version of the software, with no limitations, such as scanning only installed applications and not the whole computer.
