Can you access Amazon API?
It seems like amazon does not have api/s for that.
The problem is that I have done the development of a desktop application where users can buy stuff on amazon and I am trying to add it to my application. I was hoping to do a similar thing as the app store, where the user needs an account to do the purchase, and then download the app from their application to get the purchase information etc.
Can anyone suggest how I would go about implementing such thing? I have looked for some examples but cannot find any. Thanks in advance. The best solution that I found is the BOT-SDK, which is a javascript library that is basically an API wrapper for the amazon BOT. By adding it to your application you can do any type of transaction (purchase/sales etc) with just one function.
Does Amazon have a free API?
I'm very confused on this, do you mean Amazon Web Services API or the REST/WS API.
Does the new (since Nov 7) EC2 free tier mean I can write code and it works? It says "The free tier of EC2 includes unlimited provisioned compute units for one year and offers more than a dozen services and a number of new features." What that means is that there is no longer any monetary barrier to your using EC2, though you'll have to wait a while before it goes away completely. If that's not what you mean, please elaborate what you mean by "free" and what you mean by "API".
What is the Amazon API?
The Amazon API is a collection of web services that developers can use to build applications. These web services are available for both HTTP and HTTPS and include access to over 8,000 different objects, including customers, orders, inventory, and shipping labels.
The Amazon API exposes over 8,000 objects that can be accessed through RESTful web service calls. The API has been designed to make it easy to use the API by using a RESTful web service model, with operations that are relatively easy to understand. You don't have to remember what URL scheme to use or what authentication method to use to connect to the API. All that you need to do is send an HTTP request to the URL of your choice and the API will send back an HTTP response containing the data you want.
