Is there Exploding Kittens for PC?
ExplodingKittens is a card game in which all cards have randomly assigned numbers, and at the end of the game the cards with the highest numbers are eliminated.
The player with the most remaining cards wins. You play an 8 card hand against your opponent. The cards are placed face-up on a grid, and you can draw one card from your hand. You can discard cards face-up (that would not get destroyed), or discard any number of them to activate a special ability. A couple of these are: You can blow up any card you discard, which will cause your opponent to win if you have more cards left.
You can flip over a card to learn that its number has been multiplied by X and added to Y. You can also multiply a card's number by any positive number (that increases its value) or decrease its value by any negative number.
When you are dealt 5-8 cards, you may discard 1 of them to immediately destroy that card.
Is there an Exploding Kittens Netflix show?
Yes!
And we're watching it now. The Exploding Kittens Netflix show is a thing that actually exists. There are a couple episodes, each with a title that you can just about pronounce without needing to watch the show. They're called Explosive Kittens and Explosions Are Not Their Destiny.
"Explosive Kittens" sounds like a terrible idea, but it's actually kind of brilliant. For every episode, all you do is watch a kitten explode. And once that kitten explodes, you get to watch an explosion. That's it.
The show's creators, the folks who came up with this concept, are the duo who made a web series called Grownups Are Bored (GAB) that features people in a house playing video games and watching cat videos. After watching GAB for a while, they started thinking about what would happen if they'd gone ahead and made a real TV show that was like Grownups Are Bored, but instead of video games, cats would explode in your face and you would have to watch explosions.
It's a crazy idea that doesn't quite work, but they still made a fun, dumb show out of it. The exploding kittens aren't very funny, but you'll still watch anyway because the show is so short and because you want to see explosions. I know that the first time I watched this show, I laughed hard.
The first episode has three kittens who have no chance of surviving a massive explosion. We see this over and over again. For example, the first kitten says, "Look at how small I am."
You: "A kitten? Is this some kind of joke?". I: "Nope. It's the truth. Look at that tiny body."
You: "This kitten is way too small to survive a massive explosion." I: "Yeah, I know." You: "But why did you even bother having kittens?". I: "I guess we just wanted to watch them die in dramatic fashion." You: "Well, they are cute, but this kitten will be dead before the end of this show." You: "Why do you keep doing this? The kitten's gonna die before we get through the whole episode." I: "I guess I just love explosions.
