Who is Spock's wife?
The original "Star Trek" series was the first to depict Spock and his wife as an interracial couple.
In later series, Spock and Uhura were shown to be together, and there were romances in the comics.
What does the Vulcan symbol mean? The Vulcan symbol represents knowledge, strength, balance, and inner peace. To Vulcans, its meaning is more than a mere symbol. Its meaning stems from a philosophical belief that the mind is capable of controlling the emotions and thus the body. Many Vulcans believe that their mental faculties were given them by the Vulcan race who once lived on Earth, and that they hold that a Vulcan's mind was formed by the mind of God himself. Vulcans use the Vulcan symbol and motto as a kind of family crest.
How does Vulcans see emotion? As a tool to the mind. They believe that emotion is a force, not unlike gravity, which can be controlled, but only when used wisely. They strive to control their emotions, much like how we strive to control our feet. Vulcan philosophy is based on the belief that a person who can control his emotions will possess a "high reason". Vulcans believe that humans are the greatest threat to this peace because they do not control their emotions.
How does Spock feel about emotions? As a Vulcan, Spock feels that it is important to understand emotions because the human form of emotions can cause conflict and pain in a person's life. He believes that people should try to understand and accept their emotions in order to help their emotional development. Spock understands the dangers of emotions and tries to temper them within his mind and actions in order to help himself grow.
What are some Vulcan qualities? Vulcanism is based on many qualities. One of the most prominent is respect for knowledge, knowledge acquired through the process of study. When Vulcans reach a certain level of knowledge, they are ready to engage in the process of mastering emotion. Another prominent quality is logic. Vulcans believe in the importance of reason and objectivity. They try to understand and evaluate things through a methodical, logical means.
How do Vulcans control their emotions? Vulcans work with their emotions and seek to master them by learning what causes the emotions they feel and why they occur. There are many tools available to Vulcans to help them control their emotions.
What happened between Spock and T pring?
At the end of TMP, when Spock finally finds a life-time companion and falls in love with a new life-time female character, is it possible that this is where we find out about this relationship, and why he returns to Vulcan?
It's my opinion that when "Sarek and Spock's son" are killed (this occurs on Voyage Home), Spock leaves after killing this son. However, I could be wrong. I never read the entire books nor had anything else to go on that was set chronologically before the TV series aired. I think that it would be logical to assume that "Trip" died somewhere near the beginning of the book series - at least, there's nothing about the child who comes home early that is inconsistent with death occurring. In fact, considering how the "boy" is described (he is a baby and Spock carries him all over the ship) it sounds more like "Trip" died and Spock killed this baby because of his previous statement about his son being "sacrificial". There are many ways this could happen.
There were many possibilities for that relationship. There were many ways to interpret the "no homo" comment from Spock. After reading this thread, I've come to the following conclusions.
The most obvious one: He's asexual. In the original novelization of TOS, Mr. Spock is "reborn". This time he is a girl. The implication is that at this time he becomes involved with this woman and they travel around in the past together. When he is reborn again on the Enterprise we see that he is male. This is an alternate interpretation to the "takes two" theory.
His first romance in the Enterprise is a fling. They don't spend the night together until the two time periods are different.
They develop a relationship after saving Kirk from the Kobayashi Maru, during the time period where they live on opposite sides of the Federation. When they do finally sleep together it's not very memorable. The relationship is simply one part of TOS. At some point in the future after the events in "The Naked Time", Spock realizes that Kirk is his true love and therefore they spend their days together as Kirk wishes.
Who played T pring on Strange New Worlds?
(part 1)
T-pring is the first ever published science-fiction game! Although not the first ever roleplaying game, for all that the text prefigures the setting and tone of early science fiction, we'll go over in detail what made T-pring such a landmark and how its influence can still be felt today. Why? Although the core of the game is pretty old by now, and although it's been adapted and published with a new generation in mind, T-pring is far from outdated or out of fashion. It seems it simply never left the consciousness of the RPG crowd for whatever reason. So I think the time is right to retell the story behind how the game came about, and to introduce you to our most-loved T-pring cast ever.
The idea. I'd always toyed with an idea of What if there were some kind of future where people were living with aliens from another world, communicating through telepathy, while their species has also become sentient? How would they interact? I started to develop my setting for Strange New Worlds. I didn't know anything about RPGs at the time, but it didn't matter - all I needed was the right idea and the right pen and paper. I got hold of a copy of Traveller which had just come out and started reading up on it. I don't remember the exact day, but eventually I must have put down all my Strange New Worlds setting, grabbed the Traveller book off a shelf, and started playing it.
I was pretty smitten with it. The world was exotic and beautiful, full of fantastic creatures and cultures. It was like reading a novel; every moment had potential to surprise you.
And it was true that if you took some key aspects out, there was even more room for your imagination to run wild. When I finally got a chance to sit down and play, I did the only logical thing: I set a scene from Traveller! For some reason, I always play with Traveller, and Strange New Worlds as well - it's my favourite games and I tend to favour games I love.
It was a fun enough game. But it had something missing for me. There were a few characters - but they were very, very bland. Very stereotypical.
