How do I connect to Wi-Fi using IP address?
I can connect to my home Wi-Fi using its internal IP address, and have internet access.
However I can not connect to Wi-Fi using an external IP address I got from a different provider. It says that the IP is invalid.
I'm using Firefox. How do I connect to Wi-Fi using an external IP address? I found the solution. The DNS setting needs to be setup. Here is what I did:
Open Control Panel. Type "Network and Internet" in the search bar. Click on "Change Adapter settings" in Network and Internet. Open "DNS server". Add 8.8 (Google) or 8.4 (OpenDNS) as your DNS.
Now you can browse the Internet with an external IP without having to change your router's configuration.
