Does Google Domains have an API?

One of the features in Google Domains which I use on a regular basis is the Google API, but I am unable to find any documentation or information about their API.

Is there an API for Google Domains? The google domains API is not a typical REST based API. The documentation page shows this clearly: The APIs in this section are not REST APIs. Instead, they're meant to be used from JavaScript code that's hosted in a Google web page (that is, web site) and accessed through a. standard browser. You can use these APIs to perform Google-specific operations from a web page running on a web server that you control. The API is exposed through a Google Sites, which can be deployed as a Google webapp, or as a subfolder of a web site.

Does Google offer Dynamic DNS service?

Dyn.

Com has been offering this service for a while. And there are at least 2 or 3 other DNS providers that do as well (see below).

I've been using the Dyn.com services for a couple years now and they've been working well. But like others, I'm a bit wary of using it long term as they have their own DNS and you can't have two servers in a single location pointing to the same domain.

That said, it's been smooth sailing so far and it has some nice features (as others have mentioned) like automatic renewal and free DDoS protection. If you're looking for something to run this on inexpensive VPSs, Dyn is an excellent choice.

What is the URL for Google Dynamic DNS update?

When you create your new domain for your dynamic DNS, click 'Google Dynamic DNS'.

In the 'Host' tab, you can type in the domain you wish to update with its IP address.

The short answer is that you should be able to set the URL for your Google Dynamic DNS account in the API console here: In the 'Domains' section, where you can view your current domains, add your new domain by clicking 'Add a domain'. In the 'Dynamic DNS' section, where you can manage your dynamic DNS updates, enter your new domain name in the 'Host name' field. The dynamic DNS update URL will be appended to your existing URL that is displayed here.

If this does not work, you may need to manually enter your URL in the 'Host Name' field.
