I downloaded the trial and tried to download a video from a friend. I only get speeds of about 2MB/s, and even with a 10MB connection, I still can't get a higher speed. Is this normal, or should I email them?
Re: Does NordVPN have good speeds? No, it does not. If you download something big, it is a good idea to try to do it in several small chunks. I would recommend using torrents. You can download that for free, and they come with all the necessary codecs for Windows.
I have had a few issues with the Speedify app, but that was before the vpn was installed. I installed the vpn and am having no problems with speeds at all. I am using the free trial to test.
I think this is a good idea. I would suggest that if you have a very fast internet connection that you download a torrent to test the speeds. Also if you do get a speed issue, make sure you use the speedtest app (that is where I got my info)
I have been using this service for about a year now. It is free. It is fast and reliable. I have used it in my country (Mexico) and it has been very fast. I have used it in India (where I live now) and I was not so happy. I don't know if it is because of the network they have here, but it is very slow.
I have found that it is very reliable. I have used it in a few places and I have not had any problems. It has been almost perfect. I have had a couple of speed issues, but I have not had any problems with the connection or any viruses.
Does Nord or Surfshark have easier to use apps?
Anyone using either or both plus a few other suggestions? I'm a newbie and have set up my Chromecast with Kodi and the Netflix app, but I want to stream local audio as well. Thanks in advance. Neither Nord nor SurfShark have apps that are easier to use than the native Chromecast apps: Google Play Music and Google Play Movies. Google Play Movies also has a web app that you can use to stream. There's no real difference -- there's no app that is easier to use. Streaming apps are all built on the same Google Play images and use the same multimedia library on your phone or tablet to handle audio and video playback.
Is Surfshark fast enough for streaming?
A few days ago, Surfshark (SSH), a serverless, cloud-based, and free VPN, announced a new feature that makes it possible to stream Netflix, Hulu, and other online video streaming services without the hassle of slow speeds or buffering. This is a big deal for Netflix, which has struggled with its streaming speeds for years, and Hulu, which has long been known for its problematic streaming. The new feature is a long-awaited move for Netflix, which only recently started enabling its streaming to work on Surfshark's network. You can read our detailed breakdown of the service and its pricing on the pages below.
But for Hulu, the new feature, which is now available to all Surfshark customers, is a landmark moment in the company's history. Not only does it mean that Hulu can boast improved streaming speeds, but it can also let Hulu customers watch live TV shows and movies, something that has long been the exclusive domain of the live TV streaming services.
While Netflix's streaming speeds have improved and have been improving for years, Hulu's have been on a downward spiral. The company has been working hard to improve its streaming speeds, but it hasn't always been successful.
Hulu's live TV streaming has also been a bit of a mixed bag. The service has experimented with various live TV streaming packages, some of which have been very expensive.
And now, Hulu can boast the same kind of streaming speeds that Netflix has had for years, thanks to the new Surfshark VPN feature. Hulu's live TV streaming is getting a real boost, which will likely make it a more compelling and attractive alternative for cord cutters who want to watch live TV.
In addition, Surfshark's serverless VPN, which is based on open-source software, is also a welcome addition. It's no surprise that Surfshark's new feature was based on open-source software, which has been a big trend for serverless VPNs lately.
And Surfshark is a good choice to start with, as the service is free and easy to use. You can try out Surfshark for 90 days before you have to pay for the service.
Which is better: NordVPN or ExpressVPN or Surfshark?
I'm looking to buy a VPN for my Android device. I'd like to get a VPN that is reliable, easy to use, and has a decent amount of servers. I've narrowed it down to NordVPN, Surfshark, and ExpressVPN.
My question is, which is the best VPN for Android? I'm also interested in hearing if there are any VPNs that are better than the ones I've mentioned. Thanks! NordVPN is the best VPN for Android, they have a ton of servers and their apps are very easy to use. ExpressVPN is great, but it's not a VPN, it's a VPN service. It's a bit more expensive than the others, but you get more features.
Surfshark is a good VPN, it has a ton of servers, but their apps are a bit clunky and it's not as easy to use as the others. I use Surfshark on my android and it works great. I have been using it for a while and it works great. I have had a couple of issues with it, but nothing serious.
I use Surfshark too.
Which VPN is faster: NordVPN or Surfshark?
Speed testing is a great way to gauge the speed of a VPN, and we recently tested two Connect VPNs: NordVPN and Surfshark. These companies went out of their way to make speed tests easy: both offer DriveVPN, their Secure Line VPN technology, as an on-demand VPN that's built to amplify their security and performance.
DriveVPN is all about performance, and fortunately, both Connect VPNs fall into the Fast category on SkyArene tests, as noted below. However, there's a caveat both Connect VPNs are more expensive compared to competitors that we've benchmarked, so we did a comprehensive test to see which provider is worth the price premium.
Speed Tests. To test the connection speed and stability of both Connect VPNs, we ran independent speed tests by using a 256-bit Secure Line VPN protocol. This VPN is built to speed up the Internet and provide superior performance over other options on the market. It puts your web activity, streaming and on-demand media streaming in a secure, encrypted tunnel, so critical information and movies/music aren't infiltrated when opened on your smartphone or laptop.
If you really want to go mobile and immerse yourself in your activities, SkyArene also runs 3G/4G mobile speed tests on a variety of platforms using a 256-bit VPN for mobile peers. Based on our tests, both Connect VPNs are fairly fast and efficient. But each has its own strengths and weakness. We wanted to determine which Connect VPN was faster: NordVPN or Surfshark.
Surfshark General. Surfshark's customer support simply can't beat. When you sign up for Surfshark, you're immediately connected to our Rocket Support, a live team of experts that can answer questions and do security assessments, plus assist over the phone.
On average, members with Rocket Support and Surfshark's 24/7 Toll-Free Hotline get about half an hour of free support from the team. These specialists are for natural-sounding inquiries and security concerns, such as static IP addresses, verifying your identity, build status and early activation of accounts.
For advanced needs, Rocket Support provides a free subscription to premium support, its 24/7 Engineer Chat.
Does Surfshark have good speeds?
I want to make a plan to purchase it, then once I purchase to make sure I can get to my sites without craiting and without future upgrades costing me a lot. My speed seems to be around 400kb/s, and I usually have issues with craiting.
I also want to know if Surfshark only shows the speed, or if it has stats for the connection. How long is the free trial? I can't remember if Surfshark offers a free trial. How can I view my old URLs? If I don't uninstall Surfshark, how can I view my old URLs? For the same reasons I know digg recommends not joining an affiliate program, I know that making adsense work for me has led me to a different business. Unfortunately it's like I drank the koolaid "Make money fast" and "Go share links, make money" there was a part of me that thought just cause it sounds sooooo damn lucrative that I would decide to make that switch.
Now, normally I wouldn't write a comment about someone else's business choice, but the fact that a place like digg might while being the biggest forum on the net, and a place that by the way has people who reads this thread in and out, and might have been my coworkers will explain more than I can. I'm mainly surfing with Safari, which is more stable, (it doesn't crash my browser) and Safari doesn't only show me where I'm going, but shows me where I came from, which can give clue to guides that I would never see and which allows me to filter out what can be useful for me. The stats shows the speed, in case you don't notice (which is probably always), and yes also a memo of failuerable requests. But Safari does an additional one that Chrome does not do. It shows a bar at the top of the window that's never stopped loading. It shows you the title of the site as well, and the domain.
The fact is that from where I come from, I need more than that. I need to know how long it'll take to get there, how close I am to there, what's in between and the most important, I need to know that I can keep on going without ruining my connection.
