What are the authentication methods of SoftEther?
You can use one of the following methods to configure your SoftEther software as a standard user: Password Authentication.
SoftEther User-ID authentication. SoftEther Authentication by DHCP. Password authentication is a way to authenticate yourself against SoftEther. The SoftEther will ask you for a password when you first launch the program. If you forget your password, or no longer want to remember your password, you can change the password and restart the SoftEther by pressing the 'restart' button on the menu bar, then 'change password' from the 'Preferences' window.
When you launch the SoftEther, it will automatically log in and show you the login dialog window. You can log in and change your password by clicking 'Change Password'. If the password is incorrect, you will get an error message box telling you that the password was incorrect.
If you forget your password, you can change it. When you start the SoftEther, the SoftEther will ask you to enter a new password.
SoftEther is a multi-user program. This means that if you register a SoftEther with a different user-ID, you will be able to log in with this user-ID and change your password, without having to enter a new password for the whole program. You can also change the SoftEther software settings by using this feature.
SoftEther will not recognize any SoftEther software installations which do not have a user-ID of '0'. You can register any SoftEther user-ID as your own SoftEther user-ID by entering any SoftEther user-ID (including a '0') when registering the SoftEther software.
If you use another application or operating system to access your email, you can use your registered SoftEther user-ID to log in to your email. For example, suppose that your user-ID is '0023', you can use '0023' to log in to SoftEther. When you start the SoftEther, the SoftEther will ask you to enter your SoftEther user-ID, and your password.
How do I connect to VPN SoftEther?
To connect to VPN SoftEther through the client software, choose VPN SoftEther from the list of VPN connections.
After the connection is established, you will see the name of the selected VPN network on the upper left side of the main window. Click the VPN SoftEther icon to activate the connection. The VPN connection will be automatically activated when you start using the application, and it will remain in the active state until you disconnect. In the VPN SoftEther client, right-click the VPN SoftEther icon and click Connection Settings to configure the VPN connection. To add a new connection, choose Add New VPN Connection and follow the on-screen instructions. To remove a connection, right-click the connection's name and click Remove Connection. To change the VPN connection's name, right-click the connection's name and click Rename Connection. To disconnect from a connection, click the connection's name and click Disconnect. To change the connection's name, right-click the connection's name and click Rename Connection. How do I add an IP address range? To add an IP address range, choose Add New Address Range and enter the IP addresses that you want to assign to the range. If you want to assign a static IP address to the address range, click Static IP and enter the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway information. To use DHCP for the address range, click DHCP and enter the information for the address range's DHCP server. To change the subnet mask and gateway of the address range, right-click the address range and click Edit. To disconnect from the address range, right-click the address range and click Disconnect. How do I change the IP address range? To change the IP address range, right-click the address range and click Rename. Click the connection's name and click Add New Address Range. Enter the IP addresses that you want to assign to the address range. Click Static IP and enter the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway information.
