Why is TunnelBear banned from my IP?

Hi guys.

We started our tunnel service recently and have noticed we are getting a LOT of traffic from your VPN IP. We are having trouble tracking you down via our website as you are all over the place geographically.

I did make a post earlier, but I am now going to go ahead and answer it myself. Here are my two points on the issue, I hope that is what you were wondering: If you are using a vpn service, which could be anyone. Please keep in mind that every time you connect it gives us an IP address, even if its a free account. You are giving us access to your IP because you are using a service that uses our tunnel.

I don't know exactly what you mean by VPN, for what its worth I was never asked for an external ip address in order to get out. (not that I know) When I log in through the site, what do you mean by "we can see its you"? We can still see IP's and have the ability to click them to get to them. I am not sure what issue you are talking about.

What makes things really weird is that I only got banned from 1 IP, its just that it keeps coming back, making it look like some kind of botnet trying to take down my site. (yes, its my site).

This has been happening for years for me, and I haven't noticed any reason for banning you. (yes, its my site).

I think you guys are the ones with the issue here - you claim you do not store logs and yet you clearly do! Also you are storing logs that you know have to have at least 3 months in order to be relevant. The real issue is that they want 3 month old logs to make a case for why you should get booted off their servers. Yet, there is no information in the past 3 months - so they cannot.

Can I trust TunnelBear?

I've been using the TunnelBear VPN client for a few years now.

It's worked really well, but when I first started using it, they were running an unsecured version of their service on the Tor network. There were some concerns that people could sniff and deanonymize your data. I was fine with that because I think this is a good thing, and the fact that they did this is why I trust TunnelBear.

Now, the company has put out a secured version of the service, which uses TLS. However, I do still have concerns. Some people have pointed out that I am trusting the company to properly secure my connection. Here's the reasons why I think TunnelBear can be trusted, and why I would use it even if it is not secured.

The company makes it very easy to verify that they are who they say they are. There is a public directory that tells you the public IP address and hostname of the TunnelBear servers. You can do a WHOIS lookup on the domain name to get more details.

You can see who is currently connected to the service. If you are someone who just wants to connect and browse the web anonymously, there is no reason to use this service. It only has some additional features, like the ability to share your VPN connection through your smartphone. If you want to connect to a VPN and do more than just browse the web, you will want to download and install the TunnelBear desktop application.

You can manually download a copy of the private key if you are worried that your data might be compromised. You can get refunds if the company is no longer trustworthy. TunnelBear was founded in 2025, which is pretty long ago. They have a long track record of service and security. A lot of small companies are not able to take the time to build a strong and secure service. TunnelBear, however, has been building a strong reputation over the past 5 years.

I use TunnelBear, and I can definitely see why some people trust it. They provide an easy way to make sure that the service you are getting is what you paid for. I hope you enjoy TunnelBear!

Why isn t TunnelBear working iOS?

TunnelBear is a fantastic web-based application for accessing your email from anywhere.

It was one of our best recommendations for an email application in our iPhone guide. But it doesn t work on the iPhone, nor any other iOS device. Is this a bug? Is it the result of Apple s ever-changing restrictions on iPhone apps? We reached out to TunnelBear for answers, and here s what they told us.

We've been working closely with TunnelBear to make sure our users are receiving the best experience possible. We know you enjoy using TunnelBear on your computer, but we also know that the feature set that comes with TunnelBear on an iPhone or iPad isn't exactly perfect. In fact, it's so far from perfect that we can t recommend it as the best method for keeping your data off-the-record. While we have made great progress over the past few weeks, there are still some pieces of the TunnelBear mobile app that will never work as intended.

How it works on the web: Email messages from one device are forwarded to a second device, and then sent as if they came from that second device. An iOS version of TunnelBear (iPhone, iPod Touch) does not work. It appears that Apple has disabled the app, so we aren't able to get TunnelBear to work on the iPhone or iPod Touch.

While TunnelBear's iPhone app does not currently work, their iOS app still allows users to browse and read messages from their account. TunnelBear says that, In fact, with the exception of the iOS, TunnelBear is available on every platform that we support. If you're on Android or another mobile operating system, we can still send messages to your contacts via Google Talk or other services, and receive those messages via IMAP.

But, the app does not work on the iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. Why it doesn t work on the iPhone or iPod Touch. We are working very closely with TunnelBear to try and fix the issue with the iPhone and iPad versions. We understand the frustration of being unable to use a product you love, but we hope to have this sorted in the very near future.

Why would someone use TunnelBear?

However, the "S" in HTTPS stands for secure, so even though the connection is secure, there's no guarantee that your information will be safe.

To browse with the highest level of security. If you're going to visit a website, using TunnelBear makes it more likely that your traffic will be encrypted. The benefit of using HTTPS encryption is that it protects you from eavesdroppers who may be listening in on your connection.

If you want a paid plan, use the Free Paid Browser Version. Open your browser and click the TunnelBear icon to start using the service.

Where does TunnelBear get the money to offer subscriptions to its users? Most of the money that we make comes from advertising. For example, you can create a browser button on your website that lets your users use TunnelBear to browse securely.

If you would like to have TunnelBear included on your website, you can do so by purchasing our banner advertisement space. You can choose to target your audience based on location, or to target a specific country or even a specific city.

We do not display ads while browsing, and we do not collect any personal information such as your IP address, your username, or your email address. How can I know when you add new features to the service? You'll always get a notification when a new feature is available. If you miss a feature, you can always go back to the old version of TunnelBear.
