How do I copy text from a PDF to Excel on a Mac?
I have a document (in PDF format) with lots of tables and stuff like that. I want to be able to copy a small amount of the text into an excel spreadsheet.
I am able to do this for Windows, but not for Mac. Is there any way to achieve this? It seems that it's not possible with Apple's product. On OS X 10.9, you can use the command line tool pdftotext to convert a PDF to plain text and then xdvdfonts to convert the text into a postscript file. You can then import the postscript file into Microsoft Excel on Windows.
How to import a table from PDF to Excel in Mac?
Hi all. I need your help. I am new in this forum and I want to know how can import a table from PDF to Excel in Mac.
I am using Mac with Parallels Desktop 10. I have also Adobe Acrobat XI Pro but I don't want to use it because of limited usage I mean I don't want to install Acrobat in my Mac for a big size file.
I have a big PDF file (i don't know its size) and a small Excel file which has a table in it. I need to import a table from PDF to Excel in Mac.
The number of rows in the PDF and Excel files are different. How can I achieve this? Thanks in advance. Regards. Zulfi.e. Last edited by zulfi on Thu Jun 13, 2025 6:55 pm; edited 1 time in total. I have a big PDF file (i don't know its size) and a small Excel file which has a table in it. For an old question here's my response from above . When you download Acrobat, you can choose to either use the "Import Text File" feature or the "Import PDF" feature. Acrobat will then generate a copy of your table for the new file. If you need to use multiple PDF files, you can drag and drop them into Acrobat.

Is there a way to import data from a PDF to Excel?
I have a question here about how to import data from a PDF to Excel.
For example, the PDF contains 2 columns of data with different types of data for each column. The second column are numbers (decimal type) whereas the first column are named strings (characters).
Do you know any software that can help me
Best regards. The fastest way to do it is to simply load the pdf in Acrobat Pro and export it to a spreadsheet/database file then import it as an XLS. If you don't have that option then you can export it to CSV which you can then import into your choice of software for further processing.
