How do I change VPN settings on my TV?

I am trying to connect to our network from outside the office. To do this I have bought a VPN adapter and set it up. How do I configure my TV to use the VPN and access the internet from a different location?

If you're using Windows Media Center (version 11) or Windows Media Center 2025 (version 11.2), your TV is configured by default to connect to the Internet through a particular Media Server. By selecting a VPN option, you can change which one is used. To do this, follow these steps:

Make sure the TV is connected to the Internet via a cable or WiFi connection. Launch the "Media Center Connection Wizard" from the Control Panel.

Click "Add Connection".

On the next screen, select "Select Source" and then select "Network or Network List" from the menu that appears.

Select the IP address of the network or IP address range that you wish to use. For example, if you select the 10.0 address range, your TV will connect to the internet through your DSL Router's DHCP server.

Once you select the appropriate source, click "Next".

On the next screen, select "Connect directly to" and choose "IP Settings".

The "TV Settings" page will open with the IP address of the TV displayed. Select the VPN address you wish to use. If you are using an external DNS server, this option will appear in the "Resolve Name" section.

Select "Start". Once the connection is complete, you can use the Internet features on your TV. You can also manually change the IP address and VPN address on this screen. Note that if you use the same VPN account on more than one TV, only one of them will be visible in the "Network or Network List" section, so only one of them will be able to connect. Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows if I can configure the LG Smart TV or a 3rd party VPN on my LG Smart TV (LG 55ES905B). There is an issue where you can't watch certain Live TV channels on an Apple TV 2 4th Gen. The app says "unable to view", and we have tried every possible configuration in the Settings menu and none works.it appears that this bug only affects some Live TV Channel, only on an LG TV for example - there are no issues on other TV models (Samsung Smart TV Tv2 and Sony Bravia A55). We've tried a number of configs already but cannot resolve the issue. It works fine with Roku's version of the app and has never been a problem for the LG app when it worked with our 3rd party remote to the TV. Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated! I see from your reply that you can watch certain channels, the LG app is saying that the network you are trying to watch isn't available. Is that right? Do the other channels work? If they do work, does the network play fine on another device such as an LG TV? I am glad you came across my post - thank you for taking the time to respond. I just had a chat with LG customer support and it looks like the only way to resolve this is to have your supplier change the data connection. You can contact them here: Customer care .

They have kindly offered to send someone out to the house to check the TV connections and see what they say, but in the meantime I have managed to get access to WiFi connection which might work with the Apple TV. Sorry, don't get an email with LG customer support when you post the forum link. Just try your best to call customer support at 1-800-456-1230, it's toll free.
