I've mentioned in a previous article that the UK has some restrictions when it comes to what is viewable on Amazon Prime Video. In the past, I have been able to trick Prime Video by simply searching for a movie on iTunes or the Amazon store and then watching the movie on Amazon Prime Video through an internet connection. Now there are new restrictions on where you can view movies on Prime Video and things get more difficult to view a movie on Amazon Prime Video unless you live in certain locations.

When I try to search on Amazon for a movie that I have previously viewed on Prime Video, the search results page doesn't show the movie. I also get a message stating that the movie is not available in the UK.

This means that you need to trick Amazon Prime Video to think that you are viewing the movie from your country of residence. Below I will outline the process that I have used to watch Prime Video movies and some tips on how you can do this with Google Chrome. The following instructions assume that you are viewing movies on the latest version of Google Chrome (the one that has a green shield). This usually is the version number 70.3539.101

Step 1: Go to google.com/chrome Step 2: Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Show Advanced Settings. Step 3: Click Content Settings. Step 4: In the settings window that opens up, select the Downloads option and uncheck the Block download in Incognito option. Step 5: Click Reload at the top of the window. Step 6: Now if you try to search on Amazon for the title of the movie you are trying to view, you should be able to see the movie. If the process doesn't work for you, then you will need to use the steps below instead. Go to your default location (which I assume is US) and search for the movie you want to watch on Amazon Prime Video. Then open Amazon Prime Video in your browser. You should be able to see the movie without any issues.
