How do I bypass Netflix VPN block?

In the list of countries Netflix can be accessed in, there is a country called unlimited. This country has no limits to how many devices you can connect and watch simultaneously, so long as you are physically located in the country of unlimited availability. But it appears that even if you are not located in the country of unlimited availability, Netflix is still trying to limit you. I'm guessing this is related to Apple's App Store policies, since Apple will ban apps from the App Store that use geolocation to determine a user's location. This isn't really a problem if you are accessing Netflix from the US, but Netflix wants to make sure their users are only watching from within their own country.

I am a US resident and I live in the UK. My Netflix account works fine as long as I am in the US or Canada, but once I go outside of the US (either on the road or flying overseas), Netflix blocks my access to their content. At first, I thought that perhaps their VPN was set incorrectly, but then I realized that it only blocked me on WiFi.

As an example, I am currently using my phone as a hotspot and watching content on my laptop. When I try to access Netflix from my phone, I am unable to connect to the service, despite having a verified connection.

This isn't just a problem with VPNs and Hotspots. If you're on an iOS device, you should be aware that Netflix is blocking all but a handful of countries. This means that if you live outside of those countries, you won't be able to access the service from either a computer or an iPhone.

For some reason, Amazon Prime is completely unaffected by the limitation of countries and even when I'm on a VPN, Amazon Prime allows me to access everything. Does this problem exist in other countries? So far I haven't been able to find any other countries that seem to be as affected as the United States. However, there are certain places where Netflix might be a lot more lenient, such as Japan.

It's possible that VPN providers can't access Netflix on other countries, but I haven't come across anything saying that this is the case.

You will see everything as high definition (HD) when you watch Netflix, but the picture quality will be very poor because Netflix uses a lower bandwidth system (in both data and processing power).

You also can't pause the Netflix movie. You can fast forward and rewind, but that's about it. The same limitations exist if you're using Amazon or Google services for watching movies. On the plus side, Netflix makes it easy to watch movies and TV shows in HD on any device you choose; including laptops, tablets, TVs, and of course smartphones. It would be more convenient to watch films and TV shows through a computer or TV set-top box, but since you never can control this software by yourself, you're stuck in a very limited environment.

For those of you who are new to computer network, and to Netflix, here's an overview of what I consider to be the biggest problem with Netflix. It's called Cloud Computing. Cloud computing is a new computing method which provides a way for internet service providers (ISPs), such as Comcast, Google, Amazon, etc., to 'store' your videos and movies in their servers. Then, when you request Netflix, it pulls the information from a server owned by a third-party, rather than pulling it from its own storage systems.

However, the third party, or cloud service provider (for the sake of simplicity), can view your files without your knowledge, and can view the files in ways which differ from the original file, such as converting the file to a lower quality (ie, 720p instead of 1080p). Because of this, it's best to use VPN technology to gain full access to the files in any form - HD or SD.

It is important to understand that by doing this, I am agreeing to give up all privacy when using a VPN for my Netflix purposes.
