Is Brave browser safe or not?

Why is Brave against Chrome?

And other FAQs

A number of questions come up in the comments and on reddit about Chrome being the new standard for Brave, even though Brave is now supporting Chrome as well.

In this article, I'll give an overview of the reasons that lead to this decision. It may be useful to know when going forward for anyone trying to get people to use Brave over Chrome.

The history. Google Chrome had support for ad blocking built-in. At some point, they added this functionality to a plugin called "Chromium". Now, what happened there was one of the founders of this plugin became the head of browser innovation at Google, and since then it seems that the relationship between Google and the company building the Brave browser has deteriorated. The core differences. Google uses the web-server to do all of its work. They have a proxy that relays web requests through to the web-server. The proxy is a key part of any network:

A proxy is a device that sits between a computer's network adapter and the internet. The proxy intercepts traffic from the network adapter to the internet, and instead forwards it directly to the internet. This can make the transmission of data over the internet faster, because no internet traffic passes through the computer itself. The proxy also performs data filtering.

When a website is viewed, the computer creates a web request that goes to the proxy. Then the proxy makes a request to the actual website and sends the response back. Now the website is served and it's content is presented to the user, or not depending on what is being blocked. So essentially all of Google's work is done through a web server that runs on a computer and a web proxy. We only have an account with the site if our request passes through this proxy.

This is different from how Brave works. Instead of having a "web server" that does all the work, we have a set of rules. Our web server is only concerned with "Does this match my rules? If so, respond with this?" For example, suppose someone is viewing one of your ads. The web-server would respond by saying "Yes, block you", and then never seeing your ad.

Google Chrome is the world's most popular web browser, but many people are now switching to a new browser called Brave. What's the story? Brave is a free web browser that blocks ads and trackers from websites you visit. It's also the first browser to use the latest version of the Web Standards Project's (W3C) Web Manifesto.

While Brave is still very young, it's already more popular than Google Chrome. In May, Brave was the third most popular browser in the US, with 5% market share. According to StatCounter, the global market share of Brave is just over 2%.

Brave's popularity has grown rapidly in recent weeks. Since the beginning of June, Brave's usage has risen by 745% in the US. In the UK, it has risen by 605% since the beginning of June.

Brave's growth is good news for privacy advocates. Google Chrome's dominance means that most people are using an ad-supported browser.

But Brave is still not as popular as Firefox or Safari.e. How Brave Works. Brave blocks trackers and ads from websites you visit. This is because Brave is built on Chromium, the open-source web browser that Google uses to make Chrome.

Chromium is a free and open-source project that anyone can use. Google makes its own version of Chromium called Blink. This means that Google can use Chromium to build its own browser, which is what makes Chrome so popular.

Brave works the same way. It's built on the open-source Chromium project and the team behind Brave has already started building their own version of Chromium called Brave Chromium.

Brave's goal is to create a browser that's better than Google Chrome. Google Chrome is popular because it has a wide range of features and it's easy to use. But it's also slow, insecure, and a privacy nightmare.

Brave aims to fix all these problems and create a browser that people will love to use. Why Brave is a better browser than Google Chrome. Brave is fast. When you start browsing a website with Brave, it starts downloading and installing the necessary resources right away.
