Should private DNS be off or automatic on Android?

I have my own DNS servers, and I have automatic DNS off turned on all of my Android devices. Is there any reason why I should turn it off? I just want to use the built-in DNS servers on my router.

There are good reasons to not to use a central DNS server. Some ISPs provide their own DNS servers, and if you don't use those, you'll get a message that the request is "unroutable" (because it's coming from your ISP, not an upstream DNS server). DNS hijacking is possible, and even with a central DNS server, you're likely to have an upstream DNS server. And DNS hijacking can be quite dangerous.

If you use a DNS server which has content filtering, then it's possible that certain parts of the web (such as porn) will be blocked. This can be quite annoying for those who need access to that content.

I have recently bought new Android phone (ZTE 635) and I decided to use it as a root. But the problem that this phone is not rooted yet. And I will not be using it with any app or anything else.
