DTube was created by the team at Diversy.

Io, a company building a decentralized YouTube alternative. The creation of DTube started in the Spring of 2024, as a way to test the viability of a decentralized YouTube. The results were promising and we launched a public beta in October of 2024. A few months later we found a partner and in September 2024, Diversy.io launched DTube.

Since then, the team has worked hard to make sure that our vision of a decentralized YouTube that is controlled by the users, not the big tech companies, remains a reality. As a result, DTube has grown into a thriving community of 100 million registered users and has become a leading YouTube alternative.

We are proud to say that DTube has now become the world's fastest growing video sharing website. We are grateful for all the help that everyone has given to make this possible.

But it is clear that DTube is not yet the success that we have all dreamed of. This is why we decided to crowdfund the development of DTube.io in order to build out our original vision. This means that we will be able to launch DTube.io on our own terms. We will also be able to hire more people to join our team and expand our community. This funding will be used to pay the salaries of our team, to support the development of DTube.io, and to make DTube available to more users.

We also want to make DTube available in more languages. In order to do so, we have been working on a partnership with a big publisher, which we can announce in the near future.

This is the main problem of DTube.

What is up with the content moderation? Some videos were deleted, some have. "doubles", and you can notice the "spammy" behavior in videos of many. Channels. A few videos are flagged as "inappropriate". The system needs more

The "suggesting" is useful, but not enough. Many videos on the front page of DTube are suggested by bots, that create spam-videos. In some cases, some videos can't be accessed. This is the problem of video hosting.

All in all, I would say that DTube needs more funding and development. It doesn't take into account that many videos uploaded to YouTube can be uploaded. To DTube. -----. Theslurp.
