I am in the same boat with you. With all the money I have been spending trying to figure out how to stop the charge on my surfshark account since I signed up over 2 years ago.

The trial period ran out after 3 weeks and they did not have the trial period listed as an option for when I signed up. I only saw the trial when they sent me an email to confirm that I paid them. I did not get a receipt. It was my understanding that this was the only way to avoid a monthly charge and surfshark never charged me.

I have had no trouble but I used my phone to sign up initially, it should not make a difference in regard to how the account has been setup. Once I signed up, I emailed support and they said that I could not use my phone to sign up initially, I thought the same thing and used my personal phone to sign up but no luck.
