Why isn't the YouTube app opening?

Why won't YouTube links open in the app?

Recently, the YouTube app on iOS was updated to the new version that is compatible with the latest iOS 7.

But I can't open YouTube links from apps (such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.) directly through the app.

I'm using an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.3. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Open the YouTube app on your phone and select the Youtube link you want to open. Then, touch the link and select "Copy Link".

Now, open your favorite app, go to the address bar, and paste the link. That's all!

How do I open YouTube in browser instead of app on iPhone?

The short answer is: You can't. That said, I've noticed some apps that do this, and it's because they have a link to a website that offers an iframe for YouTube videos. For example, Vimeo.com does this: I also see apps that will "open in browser" - but you have to tap through more steps, and they often require you to install another app on your iPhone (like Safari). It is not possible to open the video from browser. But you can use any app from store to play youtube video.

Here is a youtube app from apple store which opens video in browser.

Why won't my YouTube app open on my iPhone?

My YouTube app refuses to open on my iPhone, even though I have logged in successfully.

I've attempted to clear all cached data for the app and restarted the phone multiple times, but still no luck. The strange thing is that my wife can watch YouTube videos just fine on her iPhone 6, and we both have similar ios devices. Anyone have any ideas?

I just tried to open the YouTube app and it says "Cannot Open This App". I was logged into the YouTube app before and then I opened the app and it was still logged in but now I get a message that the app cannot be opened. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I just got the same thing. I had been logged into the app and then I went to the website to try to log in and it gave me a "Cannot Open This App". When I try to go to the app again it says "You can't open this app because it is in use by someone else." I'm sure it was me because I only use this app on my iPhone 6. I would think it would work on any kind of iPhone or iPad. Is there a fix for this?

Yes it does work on any iPhone or iPad as long as the person who is trying to use it isn't signed in. The app is a very good experience and I think the reason they are locking it down is that it is just getting too popular with teenagers and children. But if you are a parent and don't want your kids to see it, then it should not be open to the public. It is the same idea as Facebook has when you try to post to someone's wall but they are already signed in.

My daughter (9) signed into my husband's account and when she opened up the YouTube app, it said "You can't open this app because it is in use by someone else." I have my own phone, but she wants to have her own phone and she is a teenager. She doesn't know that it will be against the rules for her to sign into other people's apps and accounts. It was all her own fault!

I recently went to youtube and did not realize my account was logged in and I watched a video. All of a sudden I could not open the youtube app anymore. I had to uninstall the app and then reinstall it.
