Does no lag VPN work on PS5?

So I got my PS5 last Friday and when I was setting it up I turned on the internet connectivity but when I went to play Assassins Creed Odyssey there was lag with every other player online.

I contacted the PSN support line and they said that the PS5 has a software feature that lags all connections when it's plugged into a wireless network. They suggested I turn off the internet connection when I'm not using it and it will work fine.

I know this is dumb but I've only had my PS5 for 2 days and I want to get it to where I can do any of my activities on the internet without lag. How do I turn off the internet connectivity on my PS5? You can go to your console and manually turn off the internet connectivity. Or you can disable it in the System Settings>Network Sharing Settings I think I can help! When you install a PS5 system, you do a setup screen on the first boot. On the first boot you will have to select a wireless network. Once you have chosen a wireless network, you will be asked to save the connection information. The connection will show up as WLAN and WLAN Connection #1. This means it is saved as "Wireless connection 1" on the PS5.

You can access this connection by going to the settings, and under Network Connections you can see the WLAN connection you created. Simply click on the name to edit the settings and disable the Internet connection on your PS5.

Note that the connection is still there, and you can still use the connection if you need to.

How to get easier lobbies in Warzone PS5?

How do you make your lobbies friendlier for newcomers? Easy mode should be easy again without being too easy. PSVita: PS4: I am thinking of the best ways to do it but before I go into more detail (and I've done some research and tests already), I think we need to define what we mean by "friendlier". This can range from changing the voice chat to giving your players an easier experience of how to navigate the interface.

Is there any data you can provide that would help us figure out what the best option is? For example, if there's a way to determine the preferred game mode (for example if all players play co-op or if it mostly plays single) that could provide a lot of insight. Are you playing on Proton? When I am using Proton I get into lobbies that only allow 2 minutes between games and it becomes unplayable because everyone keeps cancelling once they're on the map. It's extremely frustrating when players leave a lobby and cancel on the map.

We are currently testing several different options at the moment. We want to figure out the best option as quickly as possible so we can make sure we have the game and service up and running as soon as possible. I can see why it is irritating for you to have players cancel games when you're not even on the map yet and we'd love to be able to remove this annoyance from Proton. Unfortunately it's something that can't be fixed just yet as Proton is still an experimental service. We may eventually get around to fixing it if we feel there are enough players on it to warrant the change.

For a long time I've been wondering: What is a VPN and how does it work?

I've heard the name of the service countless times before in a variety of different environments, but never really understood what a VPN was. Then one day I was watching the latest episode of The Slow Mo Guys in the office and was struck with a sudden realization. The guys had just shown off a new technology they were working on called HMDVR. It was the combination of the technology used in Google Cardboard, which is also known as VR - virtual reality, with Head Mounted Display. There was a brief explanation and demonstration of how it works, after which I finally realized what a VPN was! So I did some research and here's what I learned.

The short answer is that it makes your network faster. Here's the long answer.

To understand how a VPN works you first need to understand how the internet works. If you go to a website and download a page from it you are transferring data over a number of different networks and connections to get the information from the website to your computer.

You may have some luck, and your download will only require a single network hop. Say you visit www.google. At this stage the browser sends a request to a server named www. Google then has to go out on their network, find a connection to an ISP, and send the data back to you. However, as this whole process is over the internet the packet (the communication between the two computers) gets sent over multiple connections and routers as it travels along the path. After each hop the data has to be rescheduled or reshaped depending on what kind of networking it's going over. Some hops require more bandwidth than others so for every data packet that goes over the internet, the same amount of time is spent scheduling it onto the right network and connecting it.

This overhead results in slow downloads, lagging websites and even the dreaded speedtest! A VPN allows you to connect your computer to a remote computer in a safe, anonymous manner that can make your traffic appear to come from the destination network instead of your current network, usually the internet. This way, your internet traffic looks like it's coming from wherever you want to be.
