How do I import external certificates into OpenVPN?

I have a VPN-server (OpenVPN) running on my personal machine. It uses the client-credentials authentication scheme, and I generated certificates for clients and myself. Is there any way to import those certificates into the OpenVPN client software? Or, maybe there is a way to export/import the certificates from Windows (OpenVPN does not seem to do this by default, and the Linux version of OpenVPN only supports importing certificates from a PKCS#12 file).

My VPN is in a very sensitive phase of development, so any additional tools or information that may aid me would be greatly appreciated. OpenVPN's client doesn't support importing certificates from other servers, only from a PKCS#12 file, as you've already mentioned. You can still export your certificates with OpenVPN, and then use them on a different server if you need to. For instance, if you generate a certificate for your own VPN client and a separate CA cert, it can be possible to export the CA cert from OpenVPN and import it onto another server. However, it depends on what encryption scheme you use, and how it exports the certificates.
