Is Hotspot Shield no longer free?

My parents are still on hotspot shield (and will probably stay with it) because they have been paying for it for several years. Recently, Hotspot Shield changed its pricing structure, and now charging per-device instead of per-user. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

After searching in Play Store and on our website, we found that Hotspot Shield no longer offers a free version of the software.95 per year which is the current price at the time of this post. The Pro version is a lifetime license for all devices used with your account and has features like unlimited cloud storage.

You can use the free version of the software if you would like, but you can only use 1 device with it. Hotspot Shield Pro is the best choice if you want to use more than 1 device at a time. As a side note, we do offer an upgrade to Hotspot Shield pro every 2 months if you ever lose access to your account. @TigerCZ. Thanks for the reply. When I got on Hotspot Shield, it was listed as free. I was confused for a few minutes, but you clarified it. I had heard about an "upgrade" if you lost access to your account. Was it a two month free subscription or a lifetime one?

Also, it seems that there is no longer a list of countries you can use the free version in. Do you know if there is a workaround? When we launched Hotspot Shield, we only offered the paid version for a few countries, mainly US. However, in the last few months, we started having a lot of new users who signed up from those countries and needed the free version.

I am trying to use it but I am only getting 2mbits through it and thats it. What am I doing wrong? This is not true. There is one version where you get 500mb. But all the versions are just a tool that provides you a firewall and allows you to surf the web on your phone. And this is the reason why the speed is poor. Theres no data included. They should really add more data in their plan if they want to offer data. At least for 100mb!
And we're off the topic. I like it cause it blocks p2p apps and my kids don't get to see what I'm doing on the internet, lol! Plus, it's super easy to install (just download and run) and setup. Now, it would be really nice if it had unlimited data, but it doesn't. You get 500mb
