Why is my Excel not showing data?
The image shows I have data in the A2 cell.
However, when I try to make the "Data" sheet display the data in A2, it appears blank. In another question asked in another thread, people solved the problem of the program failing to read by simply doing a Save As. Save is not an option. That worked for that particular Worksheet however when attempting to repeat this process for the rest of the workbooks it creates it is giving me a error stating: 'This file cannot be restored. A workbook created from it contains links to other parts of itself' . A workbook created from it contains links to other parts of itself' ". Can someone explain how to overcome this issue and point out why this is the cause?
Hi all, I am having an issue with Excel as well. In Excel, at the bottom left of the screen is "Help", "About Excel", "Close Excel". Right after I enter those items, even though they aren't complete sentences, Excel crashes and goes to my desktop/taskbar. This is my first Windows computer and this one crashes when trying to save my projects. Also when opening Excel (in this particular computer at least) takes quite some time and then crashes. Is this a common problem? Sorry for taking up space on this forum. If anyone needs further clarification, let me know. Thanks!
My Excel does not open. It does not even show the icon anywhere on the screen. I can see Windows running but no sign of the xlsx files that I have tried using.
How to enable get data option in Excel?
I have an Excel 2025 file with 50 000 rows, and a formula that returns a certain value.
I use the data validation list to set this formula. The problem is that in Excel 2025 the data validation has an option called "Get Data". This allows you to return the value of the selected cell.
However, in Excel 2025 this option does not exist. How do I get it back? I cannot find any option to enable it.
The idea of getting the cell value is to do something like this: Select A4 cell, data validation list with "=IF(LEFT(B4;5)=A5;" "yes";"no"). Select B4 cell, use data validation list with "=IF(A4="yes";"Yes";"No"). I'm looking for some way to do this without having to manually do every cell that should have a data validation list. I don't want to create data validation lists for every cell in the worksheet, so how do I know which cells have a data validation list? Note that I'm using Visual Studio 2025, Excel 2025 and Windows 7 32-bit. You'll have to do it manually. You need to create a data validation list on the 'yes' and 'no' options in the range A5:A10 and then click Advanced. > Data Link Properties and select what you want to get from the range.
Why don't I see the get data option in Excel?
If I want to use Excel 2025 instead of Google Spreadsheets for data logging and analysis purposes, how can I go about getting the data that is logged into an Excel file instead of a Google Doc?
I am not sure what would be the best way of creating the excel file. Is it a standard process to write the data into a csv file and then save as excel from the Mac? I've searched far and wide but I can't find anything that addresses this problem directly. I just can't seem to find the answer.
If you have an Excel file already there is no need to convert it. Just open that file with the data that you already have there in it.
Otherwise the simplest way is to export to CSV which you can create from Excel itself.
How to make all data visible in Excel?
Not the whole column names but every cell of the column.
How?
In Excel, say I have a sheet with 2 columns and 3 rows in it like so: What if in the first column we typed cell A1 and not row and 1? And then if we click on the cell A1, all other columns would also appear like below. Note that we don't click on all the cells in the column in the example and only clicked on A1 but we just want one cell to make all the other cells which are in the same column visible without typing their row number (ie cells C4:C6 or D1:D3.) How can we do this easily? Thanks for your help! :). Open the chart dialog box by going to Data - Chart Tools - Select Scatter or Line. Then hit F2 to open the Format menu and choose the type of chart. Choose Pie from the dropdown as the default.
From here you're ready to play. The trick is to use the Pie chart data pane. Drag the mouse over each row and watch the slice size increase.
The slices are being drawn based on how much area they are able to see.
